Cayman Islands scored an easy 93 run victory over Bermuda to take over the top spot in the points table at the U19 Americas Cricket Championship. Caymans won the toss and elected to bat. They displayed the same cautious approach in building an innings as they did the day before against the USA. This time many thought they had not put enough runs on the board having a modest score of 168/8 after the allotted 50 overs.

The batting saw seven batsmen contributing small double figure scores led by their Captain Paul Chin with a modest top score of 24.The wickets were shared equally by the Bermudan bowlers with Kian Butterfield (2/23) and Jacobi Robinson (2/24) being the best of the bowlers. Bermuda came out to bat under cloudy skies and windy conditions.

They quickly got into trouble with the first wicket falling before any runs were scored. Opening bowler Troy Taylor used the conditions to full advantage and never let them off the hook as wickets fell at regular intervals. Loren Marshall batting at number ten (33*) and Rodney Trott (20) were the only batsmen to show any resistance. Troy Taylor with a splendid spell of 7-2-12-7 led his team to a surprise victory and first place after two days of competition.

Game # 4 USA v Argentina

Both of these teams needed to rebound after their emotional losses of the previous day. Argentine's young squad needed to get back their confidence after their crushing defeat at the hands of the Canadians and the USA needed to recover after their close one wicket lose to Cayman Islands in the last over. Argentina won the toss and elected to field. Runs came freely for the USA squad with the first wicket putting on a respectable stand of 63. Birju Gajjar (30) and Ravi Timbawala (37) started the Americans on a respectable total of 222/7 in their 50 overs.

It was a better effort in the field and with the ball for the young squad from Argentine but still a sizeable target to tackle. Fighting not only the USA total but the weather which had deteriorated proved too much for Argentine but not before their skipper Julian Bordachar fought hard with an unbeaten innings of 29 *. The game was finally called after 47 overs with Argentine on 99/9.

The USA won their first match by the D/L method.
