Zimbabwe captain Sean Williams said he is fit despite going for X-rays on his sore back in the run-up to his side's convincing 118-run win over Ireland in the Group D opener in Colombo on Sunday.
"I'm alright," he confirmed after the match against the Associate side at Nondescripts Cricket Club.
"I had to go and get checked out and I had some X-rays but it is muscle spasms.
I am on some tablets, I am back on track and I am able to bowl," he confirmed.
Williams' left-arm spin was not required against Ireland as his side made short work of the opposition in a match reduced to 44 overs a side because of a wet outfield brought about by heavy rain the previous day.
With opener Donald `Kuda' Samunderu top-scoring with 61, Zimbabwe posted a competitive 215-7 before they demolished the Ireland batting for 97 in just 29.1 overs.
Keegan Meth produced an incisive new ball burst and his early work was followed up by impressive spin bowling from Graeme Cremer and Ryan Higgins.
"It was a very good performance and leaves us heading in a very positive direction as it shows what we can do," said Williams.
And commenting on Samunderu's innings he added: "He batted very well. It was a very mature innings."
Ireland captain Eoin Morgan felt his side missed a golden chance of a victory.
"It is pretty disappointing especially after the first innings as I thought 214 was well within our grasp," he said.
"Neil Gill was outstanding for us with the ball and when it came to our batting it was a combination of factors (behind our failings).
"They bowled very well and their opening bowler (Keegan Meth) bowled all his overs straight through. It was just one of those days for us.
"The fellas are now looking forward to England and trying to stay upbeat," he added.
Ireland's game against England is on Wednesday while Zimbabwe's next opponents are Nepal on Tuesday.
