5.5 to LMP Simmons, fires in a bouncer which Simmons tries to ramp behind to the third man boundary, but it looks like there was not enough pace on it as this spoons harmlessly to the fielder at point, who probably couldn't believe his luck at how gracefully this one fell to him. 37/2

3.6 to J Charles, Milne rushes onto Charles as he goes for a pull shot. Seemed in control but then realises quickly that the ball is dying just before the square boundary. And it is that man, Guptill, who ends up taking a good catch just before the rope. Milne gets his first, and New Zealand on their way. 22/1 10.3 to CAK Walton, shortish length just tailing away as it catches the outside edge of Walton's bat to the keeper as he is out for a three-ball duck. That didn't take too long. West Indies in a spot of bother at 67 for 4. 67/4

9.4 to DJ Bravo, and NMac is into business as he gets Bravo to play down the wrong line, with the ball drifting across to hit the middle and off stump. 66/3 |

0.6 to MJ Guptill, slanting away off back of a length as Guptill follows this one, getting an outside edge which carries to Ramdin. Guptill storms off and New Zealand already one down. 8/1 2.5 to JD Ryder, Ryder enticed to go after another one, although this one is devoid of any of Holder's natural pace as this is lofted to Lendl Simmons at deep extra-cover, who takes a wonderful rolling catch to end the Ryder blitzkrieg prematurely. 36/2

5.2 to BB McCullum, strikes him on the pads as McCullum looked to turn him away to the leg side, but ends up missing the line. Looked plumb, assuming there is no inside-edge. Doesn't show too much dissatisfaction at the decision as he trudges off to the pavilion. 49/3 17.4 to LRPL Taylor, goes for the big slog-sweep over midwicket but ends up mistiming it as Walton, stationed at deep midwicket, is able to run in to take the catch. Will this wicket help tilt the scales somewhat, or is the match already a foregone conclusion?. 147/6

8.1 to C Munro, and you can add one more to his wicket tally as he gets Munro to lob this straight to Miller, stationed at backward point, who takes the easiest of catches. Russell does a little homage to Brett Lee with that trademark jump after a dismissal. 69/4 10.3 to CJ Anderson, slower ball which is lopped up to Charles who should make this catch if only to protect his reputation as a wicketkeeper-batsman. That is now TWO wickets for Russell. I am still surprised, but good on him (and about time, if I may add). 79/5 |
