Tamim Iqbal has been banned for one domestic game following an altercation with Mohammad Ashraful during a Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League match between Victoria Sporting Club and Old DOHS in Mirpur.

Tamim rushed aggressively at Ashraful, the Old DOHS captain, and exchanged words with him. As a result, the match referee imposed a one-match suspension on Tamim and fined him Taka 5000.

The incident occurred in the tenth over of the Old DOHS innings, when umpire Anisur Rahman gave Faisal Hossain lbw off Shakib Al Hasan's bowling. While Faisal was taking his time to walk off, a Victoria official began shouting at the batsman to leave the field. Ashraful immediately asked the umpire to look into the matter, after which Tamim ran towards Ashraful.

"I was aggressive in my approach while protesting against his [Ashraful] comments. I asked Ashraful bhai to stay in the game but he used abusive words for which I got angry. Being a senior cricketer, he should also know what should be done, but after the match I apologised," Tamim told ESPNcricinfo. "I have a very good relationship with Ashraful bhai, and I believe it will continue because everything is finished after the match."

The Victoria official, Lutfur Rahman Badal, was also suspended for one game by the match referee.

Tamims' attitude never was pretty to watch !! Aggression is cricket is OK but abusing own team mates doesn't acceptable in any Level of Cricket.I wasn't surprised but shocked because both used the same dressing room and they had been team mate more than 5+ years. This is absulately disgraceful . Thanks to Ashraful because he showed the maturity and didn't react badly. So Only one match ban and 5000Tk ( 70$ us) for abusing your own team mates? Well BCB are you KIDDING?

"I was aggressive in my approach while protesting against his [Ashraful] comments. I asked Ashraful bhai to stay in the game but he used abusive words for which I got angry." That's what Tamim says but spectators of this incident says Tamim went too far. This type of behavior towards a senior player is just inexcusable.

Pride goes before fall, maybe Tamim will be the next example or strong baking made him violent.

i dnt support this attidtude of tamim at all... but

Tamim Iqbal may be arrogant, but this boy is one of the most generous Cricketers of Bangladesh Cricket Team. Arguments can happen in Cricket field, but outside, Tamim apologized to Ashraful after the match so it should be forgotten instead of making it a large issue.

- During the World Cup, Tamim himself donated his jersey to one of the street beggars because that man was a die hard fan of our team.

- Even during the Pakistan series, he took a fan to his dressing room and gave him soft drinks and made him understand that they should support the team even in the bad times.

- Tamim always gives gifts and presents to the groundsmen whenever he meets them after a while.

So that tells that is was a mis-incident

PRIDE GOES BEFORE DESTRUCTION, MAY BE FOR THIS HE HAS BEEN OUT OF FORM , AND MAY TIME WILL COME TO ABANDON FROM TEAM DUE TO POOR PERFORMANCE AND BAD MANNER

PRIDE GOES BEFORE DESTRUCTION

We are ill-fated nation to have such types of high-esteemed and aggressive cricket players. Tamim is the prime opener of our national team and also very familiar to other cricket nation countries. Ashraful is still the most junior test centurion in the world. But why both of famous players faced with each other with some hot and abusive words? Particularly I want to take the name of Tamim Iqbal, why have you made such type of mistake repeatedly? You are prime and recognised player of our national team. You should be sporting and learn something from Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar, Jaque Kallis, Kumara Sangakara and other leading cricket players in the world. Because so far we know cricket is the most generous and modest game among all other games in the world.
