Netherlands' bowlers, led by a stifling spell from Ahsan Malik, helped set up a crushing win over Denmark in a Group B match in Dubai. Denmark chose to bat, but were soon left tottering on 30 for 5 in 10 overs, with Peter Borren picking up two wickets in one over. The innings was briefly revived by a counterattacking partnership of 44 runs between Kamran Mahmood, who scored 41 off 31 balls, and Taha Ahmed, who hit 19 off 13, before Malik cleaned up the tail and ended up with career-best figures of 4 for 10.

Netherlands then sprinted towards the target of 110, scoring 14 in the first over followed by Wesley Barresi and Stephan Myburgh adding 49 for the second wicket in 4.2 overs. Barresi was dismissed after scoring an 11-ball 22 that included two sixes and a four, but Myburgh kept the tempo up for the team. He hit four sixes in his 54, the last one bringing up his half-century and the team's win in the 11th over.

Netherlands have climbed up to the top of the Group B table with three wins out of four games. Denmark, on the other hand, are yet to register a win.

Nepal 141 for 3 (Bhandari 51*, Khakurel 38) beat Papua New Guinea 140 for 6 (Jones 55, Dai 36*, Khadka 3-22) by seven wickets
Scorecard and ball-by-ball details

Nepal moved to second place in Group B with a convincing seven-wicket win over Papua New Guinea in their fourth match of the World T20 Qualifiers. Chasing 141, Nepal reached the target in the 19th over with useful contributions from Subash Khakurel, Paras Khadka and Binod Bhandari.

Electing to bat, PNG saw only three substantial contributions out of the eight batsmen who came out. After opener Tony Ura scored a 14-ball 22, No. 4 and former England batsman Geraint Jones held the innings together till the 18th over with his 55, which featured four sixes. Four of the top six scored in single-digits before Mahuru Dai's unbeaten 36 off 22 took them to 140.

Nepal were hardly troubled even though brothers Chris and Charles Amini took a wicket each. However, Khakurel led the chase from the beginning with his knock of 38 followed by Khadka and Bhandari who saw them home with 26 and 51 respectively.

Kenya 183 for 7 (Aga 52*, Haq 2-21) beat Scotland 91 (Tikolo 4-2) by 92 runs
Scorecard and ball-by-ball details

Kenya registered a big win over Scotland in a Group B match in Dubai after a frantic finish which saw offspinner Steve Tikolo taking four out of the last five Scotland wickets in six balls. Tikolo came in to bowl in the 12th over and picked up the wickets of Gordon Goudie and David Murphy off the second and third balls, then dismissed Safyaan Sharif off the fifth delivery, before adding another scalp - Iain Wardlaw, the No.11 - on the second delivery of his second over. Scotland were 84 for 4 after 10 overs and needed another 100 at that stage, but they lost their last six wickets in the next 3.2 overs to be bowled out for 91.

Earlier, Kenya's batsmen, led by a late charge from Ragheb Aga, lifted the team to 183, the third-highest total in the tournament. Aga was unbeaten on 52 that came off 25 deliveries and included seven fours and a six.

There is something more then inspirational taking nepal ahead substantially. The hunger to get into the top level, captain paras khadka's revolutionary form and wonders done in by the coach are probably the few reasons. The whole team is changing the dream of millions of nepalis into reality.I think probably today nepal will be surprising netherland with some hard cricket on field.Best of luck guys. :-)

Well done nepal. now you guys need to play with teams like pakistan, india, afghanistan and ireland regularly to compete with big boys.

Well done team Kenya we are proud of you please keep the momentum going and GOD willing we will qualify in style.Bowling make it tight the Scotland match they made 84 in ten overs we need to look into bowling economically spinners need to pick more wickets like Varaiya and Shem. The coach should look into this.Otherwise Kenyan fans behind you all the way.

big wish for all nepalese cricket fans to watch nepal cricket team battling on T20 world cup...

Nepal is in the golden era of cricket, winning back to back titles WCL Div 4, Div 3, ACC Elite Cup trophy-jointly with UAE after tie and runners up of the ACC T20 cup... and here we are defeating the heavy weights , in senior level after defeating test giants like RSA, Newzealand etc in the ICC U-19 world cup. Can't wait to cheer for nepal in the T20 world cup, already made plans to be there in Bangladesh if everything goes right... Netherlands were nearly beaten by us in teh previous qualifier but we lost only because we had to win the match in 12 overs to qualify.Lets beat them this time around, top the group and qualify... BOL NEPALI CRICKET TEAM, we at home are already proud, keep up the momentum !!!

nepal playing well and hope for qualifying in world cup

Posted by madhugaire on (November 20, 2013, 5:36 GMT)

It lokks preety good to see the scorecard everytime Nepal has won the match. Three matches with different opponents and three different names that have emerged to see Nepal home. Be it Paras, Subash or Bhandari, it doesnt matter for many until and unless team keeps winning. But when team is analyzwd on the whole, this is the crucial factor that can put opponents under tremendous pressure imapacting the fear that anybody in the side is capable of being a good finisher. doing well after each match is the Nepali team, this time, as many of Nepali hearts are expectiong their team to reach the world cup, hopefully the best eleven will not disappoint us. Good luck boys....

Afghanistan is favorite team in group B, but at this time Nepal is playing sensible cricket especially to great countries like Kenya and Papua New Guinea. Once again great efforts by Nepal. Neither land and Afghanistan is Nepal's next challenge. Afghanistan had beaten Nepal 7 times in a row so far, but at this time Nepal is looking for a victory.

Can someone enlighten me as to how Scotland have improved since bringing in a bunch of county cricket has-beens and never-weres? Time for Steindl to pack his bags - better coaches than him have been bulleted by Cricket Scotland for far less!

How great is the momentum going for Nepal! Hope they finally outdo not only Netharlands but their arch rival Afganistan! Surely beating Afganistan will send message to the outside world. THere is a lot to be done to improve this cricket mad country. They need money from ICC, match practice and coaching from India and Pakistan, and lots of exposure...
