Harilal Shah, who led East Africa in the 1975 World Cup, has died on Wednesday morning aged 71.
A well-known middle-order batsman in Kenyan cricket, Harilal also played a first-class game against Sri Lanka in Taunton ahead of that World Cup, hitting 59 and 33. Harilal didn't fare too well at the 1975 World Cup though, scoring ducks in his first two games against New Zealand and India before making 6 against England.
He later managed the Kenyan national side, including during the 1999 World Cup in England, and subsequently became their chief of selectors.
