PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan has said that the BCB has agreed to send Bangladesh's high-performance side to Pakistan, possibly in July this year. He also said that Sri Lanka is being discussed as a possible venue for Pakistan's next home series against Bangladesh, though he didn't mention a time frame.

Shaharyar was in Colombo for an informal meeting among the heads of Sri Lanka Cricket, Thilanga Sumathipala, the BCB, Nazmul Hassan, and the PCB to discuss Asian Cricket Council affairs. He said that the dates for the high-performance tour will be decided later, but was confident that it will happen.

"Bangladesh is agreeable to send its high-performance team to Pakistan, which is a big step," Shaharyar said. "They will play in Pakistan against our high-performance team. As regards to the national team, they are not yet ready to come to Pakistan but we could play either in Bangladesh or in a third country, which is acceptable to both sides, or we could even do it in Sri Lanka.

"I think this time around the ICC wants [the high-performance teams] to play in July, but we will finalise the actual dates later. Neutral venue [for the senior teams' series] is a possibility. These days, Dubai is our neutral venue but it's very expensive. So we might play in Sri Lanka, if they are free at that time."

Last week the BCB had rejected the PCB's invitation to play two T20Is in Pakistan.

Shaharyar also said that Pakistan's senior team will tour Bangladesh in July and August this year, though they want to discuss the financial side of things since Pakistan will be on their third consecutive tour of Bangladesh since 2011.

"Yes in July-August. We also have to agree on a financial model because this is the third time that Pakistan is playing Bangladesh in Bangladesh, which becomes a bit lop-sided. I am assured that once we are able to have the two high-performance teams coming, the next time around the Bangladesh cricket team will come to Pakistan."

@cricfan01835720 Why did your Superior Team loses to a Mediocre Team both in Test and ODI in your own homemade secured den? No fun in PAK vs. SL. PAK vs. BD? Now that would be a fun series to watch! PAK is an awesome team and BD is an exciting team to watch! Thast why so many PAK players in BPL and several BD players in PSL.

@CRICFAN01835720 LOL! The same mediocre team beat you in a test and ODI in your own den.

Playing bangladesh is not important.....should pass on that most of the money is generated by TV contract so why pay an exhorbitant amount to UAE play in SRI Lanka or England if it wS up to me I would pass on Bangled Desh

Why is PCB so desperate to play a mediocre third tier International team? Get your friends from SL and WI to tour. We in SL, will return the favor. I remember the Pakistan team coming to tour in early/mid 90's when we were fighting Tamil Tigers. Thank you Pakistan!

I will believe this comment by PCB President when BCB confirms it.

@ATL Let me tell you why India doesn't play more often with other Asian teams in their own backyard, and its nothing about them being strong. India have played most ODIs with SL, so any series with SL doesn't excite Indians anymore. Majority don't want cricket with PAK and it has been proved time and again via social media, so its a political issue. Also for Indians IND-PAK is not much exciting anymore, AUS have replaced them. As for BD, touring them is fine but not inviting them, not financially viable for BCCI. We play Asia cup once in 2 years and WT20 in 2012, 14 and 16 have been in Asia. If we play too much in Asia then haters start whining that this is how Indians maintain their overseas record. In 2010 when SL were terrific side, we drew series 1-1. After 5 years we won 2-1 and this year we'll play them again. So much of inter-asian cricket you want ?

Great comments by CRICFAN83650523. This is the only way Asian Teams gets better by playing more competitive Cricket. India is already very strong so they do not care much about the other Asian Teams and this is why they do not play more away series in Asia. Now it left with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan to play more Cricket among themselves and get better.

Wake up All Asian Teams. You all going to keep arguing amongst yourselves while Aus, NZ, SAfrica, and England are going to become very strong teams. Then there will be no chance for Asian teams to win the world cup. Just be humble and play lots of cricket to become competitive on any ground. Practice makes perfect. So dont take things personally PCB and BCB. Just shake hands and show some sportsmanship.

Same amount of security expenditure on A team as Senior team,so PCB if BD is not sending team then relax ,dont panic cuz thts not the end of world, someday PM of BD will take BD in worse position then PAK,then they will need u.
