28.5 to Shubman Gill, finds the edge again, and Foakes swallows this! Gill worked over by Anderson in that short spell and now he's heading off. Fifth time he's fallen to England's veteran swinger. Searching line in the channel and it nibbled away to clip the bat, sizeable deflection that was heading between keeper and slip - but Foakes makes no mistake. Test wicket No. 691 for Anderson. 89/2 100.3 to R Ashwin, oh that is a lovely delivery. He has been given caught at the wicket but Ashwin has reviewed it immediately. Even if this is pad, it will be close to being lbw. Oh what a lovely delivery first of all. Wobble seam. Leaves him instead of coming in. Squares him up. Takes a faint outside edge onto the thigh pad. Taken by Foakes. A lovely morning of cricket continues. 364/7 106.5 to YBK Jaiswal, what was that? The fielders had stayed back, but Jaiswal jumps out to the fifth ball of the over looking to clear the fielders. A bit of a mistake from him. The shot would make sense had the field come up. There were many singles on offer here, but he tried to take the boundary riders on. All he manages is a mis-hit, deep cover runs in, takes the catch. Huge wicket. 383/8 | ||||||||||

17.3 to RG Sharma, deflected to leg slip, Bashir strikes on debut! Just a hint of turn and flicked around the corner straight to Pope, easy as you like. England have their opening after a quiet start. Bashir roars in celebration after foxing India's captain, what a moment for the 20-year-old - just his 11th wicket in first-class cricket. 40/1 85.3 to AR Patel, rocks back to cut, slashed straight to backward point! Bashir has a second on debut, England chip out another as the day draws towards a close. Axar looks guilty as a school child caught with his hand in the cookie jar. An indulgent shot, failed to account for Bashir's bounce and keep the ball down, Rehan gobbles up the catch with glee. 301/5 111.6 to Mukesh Kumar, round the wicket, fired across the bows, Root holds another fat outside edge! Flew off the shoulder of the bat with Mukesh groping in defence, smartly taken going high to his right. 71.1 to RM Patidar, the topspin on the ball has got him. Patidar must be thinking he has defended this well, but the ball bounces and races towards his wicket, and Patidar can't stop it. It has hit him high on the bat as he defends. 249/4 90.6 to KS Bharat, slapped to backward point, another gimme! The ball was short and wide but the execution poor. Bashir repays the favour for Rehan, stooping to take low catch reverse-cup. He looks relieved, at the end of a long day, while Rehan beams with delight. Bharat trudges off with just five minutes left until the close. 330/6 110.5 to JJ Bumrah, does the job, jabbed to slip! Rehan gets the ninth wicket for England. Zippy legbreak on fourth stump and Bumrah pushes a little too hard in defence, comes fast off the edge but well held by Root. 395/9 | ||||||||||

25.5 to JE Root, reverse, edged, gone! Bumrah gets Root for the eighth time in Tests... Make that 120 for 3, Pradeep. Excellent bowling from India's premier seamer. Pulled Root this way and that with the reversing ball. Could have left this on line but he wasn't sure if it was going to come back in or leave him. Found out the hard way. 123/3 27.5 to OJ Pope, cleaned up! BOOM-rah strikes! Emphatically yorked, two stumps out of the ground, India rallying around their fast-bowling kingpin. Reverse-swinging into the base of middle and leg, Pope is completely done and plays over it. India go bang-bang-bang to drag the game back their way. Fifth time Pope has gone to Bumrah in Tests. 136/4 35.4 to JM Bairstow, Bumrah has one more. He has mixed inswingers and outswingers superbly here. And there is not much movement, just some shape. Bumrah has seen Bairstow is staying inside the line to avoid being lbw to the inswinger, so he mixes in a wide length ball. Bairstow pushes at it away from the body. Gets the edge. Gill takes the catch at first slip. Bumrah to Bairstow since tea: 10 balls, 0 runs, and out. 159/5 49.2 to BA Stokes, magic! Straight through and bowled 'im! Stokes drops his bat in despair... As if to say, 'what could I do?' Seaming back in and it stays down, 51.2 to TW Hartley, pitch-up ball nicked to slip, Bumrah has five! He said that Bazball might help him get wickets... Hartley did a decent job of holding up an end, but the innings is collapsing around him. Full on off stump, goes for the drive and Gill snaffles another at first slip. 234/9 55.5 to JM Anderson, pinned him in front, six for Jasball! Up goes the finger and Anderson isn't going to bother wasting time on a review. Full length and nipping in past the bat to hit him on the back knee roll in front of middle and leg. Turns and takes the shoulder of the bat and lobs to silly point. Patidar on the board too. Lovely seam position, lovely revs, and then turn and bounce. 59/1 38.2 to BT Foakes, timbaaaaah. Really slow in the air. Foakes defends for the turn, but it doesn't turn as much as he expects. Beaten on the outside edge, and the off stump is pegged back. Pitches just outside off, turns in, but not as much as Foakes has budgeted for. 172/6 42.3 to Rehan Ahmed, and this is what happens when you are winning. A long hop pulled straight to midwicket. Not a straightforward catch but still. Toe-ends the pull as this has stayed low, and Gill times his jump perfectly to get both hands on this, and then catches the rebound comfortably. 182/7 | ||||||||||

Crawley had clearly set himself to try and dominate Axar from the off but is beaten by some grip and bounce as he comes down again. Skewed high over backward point, it's a really tough chance - but Iyer makes it look straightforward, diving to take the ball as it descends over his left shoulder. 114/2 | ||||||||||

India lose their fourth of the morning. 122/4 64.4 to KS Bharat, that's one way to get out. A long hop, sits up, can hit it anywhere, but Bharat has found Stokes at mid-on. India still not putting it unequivocally past England. 228/7 78.3 to R Ashwin, even better hands, claims the catch to finish this! Spins to catch the outside edge as Ashwin pokes on the front foot, again the ball doesn't get up but no problem for Foakes, whose gloves stay down and the ball nestles in place. 255/10 | ||||||||||

27.1 to SS Iyer, miscued... and Stokes reels in a screamer! Galloping away towards long-off, he hurls himself full length and gets both hands safely under the ball. A wicket from nowhere, and one England desperately needed. Hartley with the breakthrough, tossed up and with a hint of turn, Iyer was looking to go over mid-on but skewed his shot high into the off side. Might have got away with it had the fielder not been Stokes. 111/3 59.6 to AR Patel, trapped by a shooter, but did it pitch outside leg? Chris Gaffaney thinks so and shakes his head. England choose to review after some discussion. No doubt about pitching in line, would have torpedoed the stumps halfway up. England have another. 220/6 65.5 to Kuldeep Yadav, well well well. What is up with the Indian batters? Block, block, block, boom. Kuldeep tries a slog-sweep after some blocking. Top-edges it for an easy catch at midwicket. India have now lost eight wickets in just 28 false responses. Just soft batting. 229/8 77.4 to JJ Bumrah, caught at gully. Beautifully bowled offcutter, batter through his shot early and Jassie stoops to scoop it up in his follow through. India two away now. Nerves dissipating. 275/8 69.2 to TW Hartley, fabulous delivery, wins India the match! Reverse outswinger, beats Hartley and all ends up and flattens off stump. Actually flicked off the pads, so could have been out in two different ways. Bumrah finishes what he started with a six-wicket bag in the first innings, securing victory by 106 runs to level the series. 292/10 | ||||||||||

Pope is caught playing back to a ball not short enough. No turn there, extra bounce, takes the edge, Rohit reacts reflexively and it gets lodged in his left hand. No. 498 for Ashwin. 132/3 30.6 to JE Root, Root throws the bat again, gone this time! An ugly hoick and the end of a frenetic innings. He had clearly set out to play in an aggressive mode - whether that's because he was bothered by his finger injury we don't know - but he was nowhere near this, aiming a slog over midwicket and the ball ballooning up to backward point. 154/4 | ||||||||||
