Scorecard
Chris Rogers compiled his third century of the Sheffield Shield this summer as Victoria made a strong start to their pursuit of Queensland's 322 on day two of the match at the MCG.
Carving out methodical runs much as he has done for most of the past 15 years, Rogers' hundred was his 58th in first-class matches and tipped his career average back over 50. He was ably supported by Michael Hill, while the Bushrangers' cause was helped by the Bulls' loss of Matthew Gale to injury.
Gale had bowled eight overs when he landed heavily on his left knee in the outfield and writhed in pain before being carried off for treatment. He was unable to return, leaving Nathan Hauritz to take up much of the slack in the afternoon.
Play had been delayed in the morning by light rain, Rob Quiney falling to Hauritz for 19 after an opening stand of 38. Once Rogers had been dismissed, The Bulls were given some hope of a more successful third day when David Hussey fell cheaply to the debutant Ronan McDonald.
