Veterans Michael Klinger and Adam Voges both scored centuries to ensure Western Australia took a first-innings lead on the second day against South Australia at the WACA. At stumps the Warriors were 3 for 386, with a 58-run advantage, and Klinger was still at the crease on 176 alongside Shaun Marsh, who had 36.
Western Australia lost openers Marcus Harris (23) and Cameron Bancroft (34) early in the day, which brought Klinger and Voges together at 2 for 75. They put on 215 for the third wicket and both brought up their centuries before Voges was caught off the bowling of Kane Richardson for 101.
It continued a remarkable season for Voges, whose past five first-class innings read 109*, 8, 101, 139* and 101. Klinger's was his second century of the Sheffield Shield season and for his new state, and he finished the day with 17 fours and five sixes.
