At Durban, October 28, 2011 (day/night). Australia won by three wickets. Toss: South Africa.
South Africa failed to do justice to their steady start, stuttering badly from 117 for one. Doherty in particular showed tremendous discipline to ground several batsmen who looked ready for take-off. With Watson returning to fitness, Australia's reply was soon in a high gear, and runs came easily before Duminy disrupted the flow by bowling Clarke off inside edge and pad, and Marsh backing away. At 130 for four and with 93 runs to get in 25 overs, the situation was tailor-made for Hussey. He was his usual efficient self, carrying Australia to their fourth consecutive one-day series win.
Man of the Match: S. R. Watson. Man of the Series: M. E. K. Hussey.
