At Colombo (RPS), October 4, 2012. England won by seven wickets. New Zealand 93-8 (20 overs) (A. E. Satterthwaite 30); ‡England 94-3 (17.2 overs) (C. M. Edwards 33). PoM: C. M. Edwards. England put in a typically superb fielding display to earn their 23rd win from 24 completed Twenty20 internationals, and deny New Zealand a third consecutive World Twenty20 final appearance. Suzie Bates lamented her side's struggle to sweep square of the wicket - which proved especially costly against England's four-pronged spin attack. Edwards fell with 41 still needed, but Taylor (21*) and Lydia Greenway (22) finished the job.
