After growing up in the UK Ian West, A Samoan passport holder, qualified to represent the island nation after working for the Samoa International Cricket Association (SICA) as High Performance coach. West, a left handed batsman and medium pace bowler, made his debut in the World Cricket League Division 8 tournament in September 2012.
Prior to that West played in the North Yorkshire & South Durham Premier Cricket League in England for Great Ayton CC and Buckley Ridges CC in Melbourne, Australia before moving to Auckland, New Zealand where he now works as a cricket writer for the Auckland Cricket Association and as a player/coach at Auckland University CC.
