James Stevens was a fast-medium new ball bowler and lower-order batsman who played five times for Northamptonshire in 1937 (they failed to win a match all season) and two more for the Free Foresters in 1953. He also represented Wiltshire in 1936 and Suffolk between 1949 and 1955. A teacher by profession, he served in the RAF in the War.
