Shaun de Kock

Educated in East London, talented left-arm spinner Shaun de Kock has graduated through the ranks of Border schoolboy sides to make his debut in first-class cricket with limited success during the 2004-05 season. After some good performances for the Border amateur one-day squad in 2005-06 he was selected for the Warriors in a couple of Standard Bank limited-overs matches. He has the ability to close up an end and keep the batsmen quiet, but thus far in his short career has not produced outstanding figures as he has not many pitches suited for his style of bowling. He has the talent, however, to go far and will no doubt, as spinners do, mature with age. Peter Martin
