A relative latecomer to first-class cricket, Wes Robinson was 27 when he made his state debut in 2008-09. He had earned his first contract with the Warriors following several prolific seasons with his club side Claremont-Nedlands including a strong 2007-08 in which he won the Olly Cooley Medal as the tournament's best player. During his first season in the state side, Robinson made 531 runs at 37.92 and posted his first century against South Australia in Adelaide. A watchful opening batsman, Robinson has also worked as a sales representative for an insulation company.
