Pakistan v Sri Lanka, 3rd Test, Sharjah, 3rd day
Pakistan under pressure despite Shehzad century
Ahmed Shehzad began the day solidly, but with little attacking intent, as the lack of pace in the pitch made shot-scoring difficult•AFP
Khurram Manzoor provided ample support to Shehzad at the other end, as the pair added 114 for the first wicket•AFP
Sri Lanka, however, soon made another breakthrough, as Dilruwan Perera dismissed Azhar Ali to claim his maiden Test scalp•AFP
But he was dismissed for 147 after reverse sweeping a delivery from Herath onto his stumps•AFP
A slow outfield did not help matters and the boundaries were kept to a minimum during the early stages•AFP
Manzoor made 52, but fell in the 49th over after edging Shaminda Eranga to the keeper•AFP
Younis Khan also didn't last long, but Shehzad continued to eat away at Sri Lanka's total, and reached his first Test century soon after tea•AFP
Misbah-ul-Haq once again remained resolute, scoring an unbeaten 36, but Pakistan lost two more wickets to end the day precariously placed at 291 for 6, still trailing by 137 runs•AFP
Shehzad carried on and notched his second fifty in only his third Test•AFP
He accelerated after reaching the milestone, scoring the next 47 runs off just 45 balls•AFP
