2.1 to DA Warner, the rough patches haven't yet come into play, and Australia have lost two of their left-hand batters. That off stump has gone on a cartwheel. This is nigh unplayable. On a length, just outside off, seams in just a little, goes past the inside edge, hits him on the pad, and then ricochets onto the top of off. He was lbw if he hadn't been bowled. 1.1 to UT Khawaja, seam-up outswinger, which swings in for the left-hand batter, hits the pad, not given out lbw, India review. It is a great first ball because batters do expect a good length and a wobble-seam inswinger from Siraj. Siraj, though, starts off with the full outswinger, which pitches just about in line, does just enough to go past the left-hand batter's inside edge and still be hitting the leg stump. You can see why Umpire Nitin Menon gave it not-out: it seemed heading down leg live time, but India have successfully overturned it. 2/1 | ||||||||||

35.5 to M Labuschagne, beautiful bowling. He did this to Michael Clarke all those years ago. Now he has got Marnus Labuschagne. He has pegged him back with quick deliveries, then slows one down, Labuschagne is dragged forward to defend, but is not extremely close to its pitch, which means his back foot is dragged too. The ball then turns away with a puff of dust, and he is stumped. Without the puff of the dust, he might have defended this easily. Bharat's first victim in a Test that he has started. Remember he substituted for Saha in one Test before. 84/3 35.6 to MT Renshaw, given out first ball, and he has reviewed. Caught on the crease to a length ball, and it turns a long way past the inside edge. There is a puff of dust too. Has this done too much? Pitches middle, hits him in front of leg, ball tracking shows clipping leg. Jadeja is on a hat-trick. Champion player. This pitch is going from the good part. 84/4 41.6 to SPD Smith, that denied run, that extra ball because of the no-ball, and that superb delivery. On a length, on off, Smith has to defend, and he is conditioned to defending for the turn on this pitch. This one turns, but only slightly, which just means straightening in line in front of off. Smith is playing outside the line. He is bowled. Will he be thinking of the single he just turned down when Handscomb was calling him? Will he be thinking of the no-ball that resulted in the extra delivery? Batting is such a precarious occupation. 109/5 58.5 to T Murphy, round the wicket, inside edge into the pads, loops to slip...they talk about the review and take it. Well, you'd think he would know if he hit it, but wasn't an instant review. Well, well, Appears to have missed the inside edge by quite a bit. Bat clips the pad. But is it lbw? Yes, it's out lbw. Smacking into leg side. I'm assuming Illingworth gave it caught initially, but perhaps it was lbw. An appeal covers all dismissals. 173/8 62.3 to PSP Handscomb, Jadeja doesn't even need to appeal for this, but Handscomb has reviewed it. He plays the sweep to a full and fast delivery, misses it, the ball goes straight on and hits him plumb in front. The only thing that can save him is an edge but there isn't any. That is a five-for on return for Jadeja. It includes the wickets of Labuschagne, Smith and Handscomb, the three most assured batters today. 176/9 | ||||||||||

Round the wicket, full at middle and leg, Carey goes for the reverse sweep, takes the bottom edge and dribbles into the stumps. He's actually a touch unlucky in a way. 162/6 57.3 to PJ Cummins, edged, taken this time! Talking of Kohli's slip catching. This was a nice one. Good height. Cummins pushed outside off, this one goes straight on, taken at around knee height. Would have been an inquest if that had gone down. 172/7 63.5 to SM Boland, carrom ball. Like a cat playing with a mouse he has beaten him outside off with offbreak, and now bowls the full and straight carrom ball to beat his outside edge comprehensively and knocks back the off stump. 177/10 | ||||||||||

Tossed up from round the wicket, this grips, Rahul looking to flick through the on side and offers a return catch to Murphy's right. What a moment for him. And how Australia needed it. 76/1 40.1 to R Ashwin, big shout for lbw, not given, and reviewed. My initial reaction: doing too much. Great delivery, though. Round the wicket, pitches middle and leg, turns back in, beats the inside edge, hits him in front of leg, and it is not doing too much. It is hitting leg stump flush. So Australia have reviewed this successfully. 118/2 44.1 to CA Pujara, wow. What an unPujara dismissal. To a loose ball outside leg. Pujara sees runs as this is on a length and wide outside leg. Pujara tries the little paddle sweep, but gets a top edge to short fine leg. Straight to that man. 135/3 52.1 to V Kohli, caught down the leg side! What a start to the session. It's four for Murphy. One of the worse deliveries he has bowled, well outside leg stump, Kohli aims to flick at away, gets a thin nick and Carey does superbly to take it at the second attempt. What a moment. 151/4 83.1 to KS Bharat, huge appeal for lbw! Not given. Looked pretty straight. They discuss the review and go for it. Was full and pushed through quite quickly. Bharat sort of jabbed down on it. Ah, might have pitched outside leg. Wasn't quite as straight as it first appeared. Certainly pad first. No, pitches in line and it's smashing middle. Super review and it's five on debut for Murphy. 240/7 118.2 to RA Jadeja, finally enough mischief from the pitch to get them a wicket. Jadeja has been leaving balls outside off, but this time he does so without a stride in. It is the flatter delivery, and it is bowled with the parallel seam, which gives it every chance to go on with the angle. This one even might have turned in a little. The off stump is pegged back. Murphy has six. 328/8 132.4 to Mohammed Shami, swings across the line, it's a big top edge and Carey runs backward of square to settle underneath it. That's No. 7 for Murphy. 380/9 | ||||||||||

Given. Renshaw has reviewed the lbw call. This is the parallel-seam delivery, which can go straight or turn away depending on which part of the ball it lands on. Hits the knee roll around middle stump. Three reds! Hitting the top of leg stump. Super review and the collapse continues. Lovely bowling from Ashwin. 52/5 19.2 to AT Carey, misses this reverse sweep and is given lbw! The carnage continues. Carey sweeping everything. It is a full enough delivery to be smothered with half a stride in.
