Gitansh Khera

Gitansh Khera, a wicketkeeper-batter from Punjab, is a product of age-group cricket. He made his first-class and T20 debuts in 2010, even before he turned 20, but it took him another three years to play his first List A game and become a regular in the side.

Khera was part of the Punjab side that made it to the final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2014-15 but personal success in white-ball cricket eluded him. He fared much better in red-ball cricket, often playing gritty knocks down the order. In 2015-16, Khera (102*) and Gurkeerat Mann (201*) added 306 for the sixth wicket against Railways in Mohali. That was his most productive season, fetching him 444 runs at an average of 37.00.

However, a loss of form cost him his spot in the side after 2016-17. Since then, he has made two brief comebacks and played domestic cricket in Sri Lanka. In his first season in Sri Lanka, 2018-19, he scored 501 runs at an average of 62.62 in the tier B first-class tournament and 318 at 159.00 in the 50-over event. In December 2023, he was part of Police Sports Club that was declared the joint-winners of the Major League first-class tournament after a rain-affected final.
