Mandhana the RCB captain?

Mike Hesson, RCB Director of Cricket, in the presser: "Everyone knows Mandhana and Perry, we were pretty committed to the couple of people we wanted to get. we're very happy to get such quality players. it's a dream result for us to get Mandhana, Perry and Devine. Smriti has got plenty of captaincy experience and is familiar with the Indian conditions so highly likely [she'll be captain]"
Hesson on scouting for WPL :"I think it's also that the data is limited. you can't just sit on your phone and search Cricinfo and and find out a whole deal lot about them. It's more about going out and getting different eyes on the players so you can validate your information. The data in terms of strike rate is pretty obsolete so we need to go out and get a number of scouts who can bring out the information"

Time to get rolling!

Many believe it should have happened in 2017, after India’s runners-up finish in the Women’s World Cup. And then perhaps the time was ripe after their T20 World Cup run in 2020. But in 2023, the Women’s Premier League is finally here and will be played between March 4 and 26. But before that it is time for the big (pay-)day – the WPL auction. It is a largely unknown wonder and that only adds to the excitement. Get set, be ready to be amazed!
