short ball pulled through midwicket and Hurricanes win!
Stars vs Hurricanes, 7th Match at Hobart, Dec 24 2018, Big Bash League
Hurricanes won by 6 wickets (with 8 balls remaining)
The Hurricanes win by six wickets with eight balls to spare. That was a pretty comprehensive performance by the home side. They start the season 2-0 while the Stars slump to 0-2. It was built off the back of an excellent bowling display. Jofra Archer and D'Arcy Short took five wickets between them and conceded just 48 runs in eight overs. Nick Larkin and Glenn Maxwell played well but couldn't convert their starts. The chase of 156 was well controlled by Matthew Wade. He got good support from Short and Ben McDermott before George Bailey finished the job. Sandeep Lamichhane was the shining star with the ball claiming three wickets but he didn't get much support. D'Arcy Short is the Player of the Match for his all-round performance with 2-23 and 34 runs from 22 balls. That concludes the first game of the Christmas Eve BBL double header. Coming up next is the Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers from Spotless Stadium in Sydney. Thanks for your company here in Hobart.
