10:32pm That will be all from us for this game. We hope you enjoyed our coverage and until next time, from Ranjith and myself (Shashwat), it is goodbye!
Ashton Turner, Player of the Match: We have ten games (in the season now), so it puts a bit more weight (on each game). We lost the last couple of games, to be on the right side (of the result today) feels good. We have had contributions throughout our squad. Starting to feel we are in a good place. Tonight was the first time our batting and bowling clicked together. Hopefully we can take that to Hobart in a couple of days' time. Our ambition is to play finals cricket and win trophies. We make no qualms about that. Added incentive to get home finals if we get into that position. Most teams are going to get some new inclusions, and hopefully we can be a settled side (come the end of the tournament).
10:27pm A bit of a rout in the end. It did not feel that way when Warner and Gilkes out on 60 in brisk time. But once they fell, it was a long way back for the hosts. None of their other batters, barring perhaps Konstas, got into any rhythm and that sums up what eventually became a rather tame run-chase.
Credit due to the Scorchers as well. They stuck to their plans, forced the Thunder to hit to areas where they had protection and ultimately, the Scorchers were too disciplined for the Sydney Thunder.
