Nurul has done it! He Finishes on 11 off three balls. Short on middle, the batsman charges down and pokes at it, takes the outside edge off his bat's shoulder. Short third man can't get to it, and that's all the batsmen want to see. Big celebrations. Sylhet Sixers win by four wickets.
Victorians vs Sylhet, 3rd match at Sylhet, Nov 05 2017 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Sylhet won by 4 wickets (with 1 ball remaining)
5.55pm That's all from the first match of Sunday's double header. Come back soon as the fourth match of the BPL prepares to start off in under an hour. For now, it's bye from Deiva and Sreshth.
5.52pm We're ready for the presentation.
For the second game in a row, Upul Tharanga is the Man of the Match. He says: "Happy with how I'm batting. We've been training hard."
Winning captain Nasir Hossain: "Two win a row is massive. Credit to my boys, who have worked hard. Proud of my team. All credit to Nurul, but really our bowlers did really well to keep them down to 146. I told my top six to bat through the 20 overs, and that's what they did."
Losing captain Nabi. He says: "We were 10-15 runs short on this track. The way Sylhet started, they batted really well and we didn't bowl as well. We came back after 10, Rashid and Al-Amin bowled nicely for us. Samuels' job is to play until the twenty overs, he played well."
5.44pm The crowd is happy, the home team is ecstatic and the sluggish Whiteley looks very relieved. His slow innings made it very difficult for Sylhet towards the end, but Nurul ensured that the hard work from Fletcher and Tharanga at the top did not go to waste. Rashid Khan kept it tight, and DJ Bravo made interesting, but their total of 145 was always going to be tough to defend under the lights. Presentation in just a few minutes. Stick around.
Here's Liam Plunkett: "We played well, and we took it deep. That was important. Good partnership at the top, that helped. Yesterday we were really good, today not so much, but good to take the second win. Rashid bowled well for them, went for 12 and then conceded nothing after that. Love how loud the crowd was."
slower ball (98 kph), on leg stump, misses the whip off his pads, and hits his pads. Dribbles away to short fine leg, they;re going for the dangerous single! They make it
Plunkett to face his first ball. Long on and long off in place. Deep midwicket and deep backward square in place too
charges down again, making the full ball a low full toss, drilled towards cover
ohhhoo! Just flies over long on for a six! Slower ball back of a length on middle, Nurul backs away and lifts this over Bravo's head. Just enough connection, and Rashid can't catch it at long on. Nurul's delighted
Sylhet need Plunkett to hit some runs, but he's at the non-striker's. Nurul will take strike
let's dance says Bravo! Slow and full on middle and leg, tries to play a cross-batted slog and hits his back pad, and rattles leg stump. Strikes first ball
Ten off the final over then. Who will Nabi hand the ball to? It's the first real close encounter of this season. DJ to bowl
Liton hits! Yorker on leg stump that takes the inside edge through to the keeper, Whiteley wants the single and races across but the keeper is accurate with the throw. Saves a run, and removes Whiteley
low full toss on middle, clipped away to cow corner. An attempted yorker that did not come off, but a single is all Whiteley can manage
full on off stump, drilled past mid off and it looks like it was going for four, but Buttler slides across the field to stop it from hitting the ropes
full just outside off, carved away towards point. No room on offer for the batsmen to get under it
full outside off, drilled past cover for a single
wide outside off, cut over the infield and the crowd thought it was going for four, but deep cover is quick to make some ground. Keeps it down to one
Sixteen needed off two overs. Comilla have done well to come back
full on leg stump, charges down but is cramped for room, tapped to long on. Expensive from Bravo
full outside leg, misses the whip off his pads, dribbles away to square leg for a run
full on off stump, tries to slog down the ground but takes the inside edge past the keeper and near short fine leg. They scamper through for the single, but they're coming back for a dangerous second. Made it easily
slower ball outside off and this one is slogged. It's a skyer and two fielders on the leg side are converging, deep midwicket gets there before deep backward square, and he floors it! A good effort, but not bobs out of Kayes' hand as he tries to complete the catch. Goes down as another dropped but that's also more runs this over
short and wide outside off, angles away from the left hander, forcing him to try adding extra power in his shot. Poorly timed, dribbled away to long off
slow and full on off stump, bunted back to Bravo, who can't hold onto it on the followthrough. Dropped
slower ball pitching on leg stump, goes down the leg side. Three runs this over and not a single legal delivery bowled
starts off with a wide ball, full outside the leg stump, Liton can't collect and allows two extra runs
they're going up to the third umpire! Full on middle and entices Nasir to attempt the wild slog. His back foot is dragged out of the crease and Liton Das does well to collect the ball as it slides under the batsman's blade. The stumps are quickly broken and confirmation is Nasir is out.
