that's it. A full-toss from around the wicket and Chase dispatches it to the vacant deep midwicket area
Patriots vs Zouks, 15th Match at Port of Spain, CPL, Aug 27 2020 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Zouks won by 6 wickets (with 32 balls remaining)
That's all folks from our side. See you soon.
Daren Sammy: Knowing the conditions in the Trinidad, we built our team that way. The freedom the owners and management gave us...the preparation and planning goes into it. It's a good position for us to be in. Nabi is good, people ask him how you replace Chris Gayle and we got Nabi. And he is world-class. Nabi has been exceptional, has been tremendous for us. He is in the leadership group as well, that makes my task easier. I understand what Rayad said but the manner we bowled, and how we won the game, that says something about our team.
Rayad Emrit: We both know, Sammy and I, how important that toss was. You have to reply on the toss at times. It's really unfair to the players, we tried and put up 110 but the pitch was damp to start with and by the time, ten overs were bowled, half of the team was back in the pavilion. I still think the fight is there in the boys. I still think we bowled decent, Imran and Jaggesar bowled well.
Mohammad Nabi is the Man of the Match. "Many times these low totals are difficult to chase but good stuff by Cornwall and then by Najib," he says. "Most of the times the team I play for they make it to the playoffs, so it's a good thing, I think. The morale of the team is really good. And we will try to win the upcoming games too to keep that morale up."
1.25pm An easy win for the Zouks despite a wobble at the start. The Patriots simply did not have enough runs and then not enough spinners on a pitch where every ball was gripping and turning. The win was set up by Mohammad Nabi, who reduced the Patriots to 11 for 4 and finished with 5 for 15, the third-best figures in CPL history. Then Cornwall gave the Zouks a quick start before Imran Khan stalled them for a bit with a three-for. But in the end, a target of 111 proved too little to make a game out of it.
