the formalities are done! Pitches on middle and leg, he makes room to scoop it straight down the ground but misses, the ball goes through straight and hits middle and leg, Sehwag has three wickets
India vs England, 2nd ODI at Indore, Nov 17 2008 - Ball by Ball Commentary
It was more like Yuvraj v England today. 118 runs and 4 for 28, Yuvraj, take a bow.
India are starting to make it look all too easy. England will have to somehow regroup soon or the series will be just as drab as the one in 2006. If England are to give themselves a chance, they will have to bat first. Pietersen goofed up at the toss in Rajkot and he should be careful not to repeat that if the conditions are good for batting. They might need to rework their batting order and get Bopara up the order. They got bogged down for too long in the middle overs despite having wickets in hand and left too much to do during the third Powerplay. But all credit to India for applying the pressure.
So did you guys have Yuvraj in your India-England fantasy contest? The man must have earned you a jackpot today. If you haven't, click the link above and start playing. It's fun.
Do join us shortly for the presentation.
Here's Pietersen: "We had a chance at 29 for 3. We lost ourselves to Yuvraj. He was fantastic. We improved from the last game. Let's hope we improve more. We need to carry on our good start with the ball. One of the top five should have gone on to a big score. I don't think we missed a specialist spinner. Samit bowled ok. I bowled five overs of rubbish."
Dhoni:" Great performance by Yuvi and Gambhir. You've got to change the target every 5 to 10 overs. As the partnership between them grew we kept raising our target. We are enjoying each other's success. Yusuf was up to the mark, this will help boost his confidence. We'll take it one game at a time."
Yuvraj is the Man of the Match. He gets a bike. Here's what he said: "Been training hard over the last few months and it's paying off. At 29 for 3 I wanted to assess the wicket, spoke to Gambhir a lot about the target. There were some shots you couldn't play on this wicket."
That's it from us. Thanks for your company. Join us for the third ODI in Kanpur (day game) on November 20. Till then, it's goodbye and cheers!
