Massively disappointed faces in the Indian dressing-room. The players are gutted. You can see it on their faces. The whole team is out and the expressions are all of utter dismay.

On the other side the Sri Lankans are celebrating. The players, the fans ... they're having a ball. Tom Moody, Sri Lanka's coach, is gracious enough to come across to the Indians and shake hands. Nice gesture that.

Dravid : We kept losing regular wickets and that put too much pressure on us. on bowling: I thought we were bit unlucky early on , later didn't put in the right areas. We haven't played good cricket. Credit to Sri Lanka.

I think it was a good wicket.

Mahela I am pretty happy. Back to back wins. It was a difficult game against India but all the boys put their hands up. Brilliant bowling by Murali and Vaas. The seniors did their job. ..... it is very good moving forward, excellent momentum. I hope we don't relax.

Chamara played very well. Upul also did a good job. The younger guys have chipped in with good performances. ....... Once we got the initial breakthroughs, we knew we can rattle them. Everybody chipped in the middle, the energy levels were very good but we have to make sure we continue.

Man of the Match Murali.

"India is a good side, they have the best batting line-up, on paper, in competition and we had do bowl well. On his catch to dismiss Ganguly, " I wanted to prove a point to my coach (said with a chuckle). He said I was not good enough to field in the circle and I had a point to prove! If we play well to our potential, we can reach the semi-finals ."

This is Sriram Veera, along with Anand Vasu, signing off for the day. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. Do switch to the West Indies game. They need a further 40 odd runs to win. Till tomorrow, bye bye.

Dilshan to Patel, OUT

That's the end! All over! Munaf heaves this one to the leg side and Chaminda Vaas runs around on the ropes and takes the catch that ends the game! Sri Lanka have won by 69 runs. India are all but knocked out of the World Cup

Amit: "Vineet has spoken for a generation. We all have grown up seeing Tendulkar thrashing every bowling attack in the world. We have lived on chases and never-say-die attitude of Ganguly. And we are the ones who have witnessed the strength of the great indian Wall all our life. It's really been a great entertainment from these three. There will be better players but, there are heroes for every generation. My dad's time there was Gavaskar and mine were these three. It's bad that these three will leave the cricket field without having a single worldcup on their name. I dont feel angry, I just feel sad. Really really sad. "

Rukman: "I am a Sri Lankan and a huge cricket fan, it is indeed sad to see that with all the promise they have India may not make it to the Super8 round. Eventhough I was hoping for a win, I believe the tournament as a whole has lost a lot of its glamour due to the exit of India and Pakistan. In my opinion there is none close to Sachin as a true gentleman and an ambassodor of the sport. Congratulations to our boys from the Emerald Isle, well done and good luck"

Fernando is getting some treatment. Seems to have cramp.

Fernando has gone off the field after the physio has treated him. Someone else will have to complete his over. It will be Dilshan to do the job.
