TOTAL50 Ov (RR: 5.08, 230 Mins)254/6
Fall of wickets: 1-33 (Sanath Jayasuriya, 6.6 ov), 2-53 (Mahela Jayawardene, 12.4 ov), 3-92 (Kumar Sangakkara, 23.3 ov), 4-133 (Upul Tharanga, 32.2 ov), 5-216 (Tillakaratne Dilshan, 45.4 ov), 6-216 (Chamara Silva, 46.1 ov)
6.6 to ST Jayasuriya, Huge wicket. A nervous-looking Jayasuriya falls. Just how he went in the 1996 semi-final. Caught at wide third man. Prasad was the fielder then, Agarkar is the man now. Full and outside off and the Matara blaster couldn't resist a flash. He freed his arms, got a top-edge that went swirling to Agarkar at squarish third man, who held it. One down and what a big wicket.. 33/1
46.1 to LPC Silva, now Silva falls. Just like Dilshan did, he also walks without waiting for the umpire's call. Zaheer gets him with a slower one. An off cutter. Full and outside off and Silva is through with his off drive a touch too early. Gets a nick which is swallowed by Dhoni. Two new batsmen at the crease.. 216/6
12.4 to DPMD Jayawardene, What an acrobatic effort from Dhoni. Is it his best ever? Fullish, down the legside - didn't deserve a wicket, try telling that to Agarkar, and Mahela flicked it. But it doesn't go off the meat of the bat as the bat-handle rotates and the bat-face shuts and it flies to left of Dhoni who goes airbourne, parallel to the ground and takes it with both hands. Stunning effort and Sri Lanka are under pressure. Two down now.. 53/2
45.4 to TM Dilshan, produces the nick this time. Dilshan's lovely cameo comes to an end. Length-delivery outside off stump and Dilshan tries to drill it on the up but ends up nicking to Dhoni. Sri Lanka are on 216 for 5.. 216/5
23.3 to KC Sangakkara, Ganguly gets the breakthrough! Inspired captaincy to bring Ganguly into the attack? Sangakkara goes after one that is pitched just short of a driving length and tries to whack it over long-on. The timing is good but perhaps too good, the ball floats across and seems to hang in the air for a fair bit before Munaf Patel runs a few yards to his right and takes a good catch. 92/3
32.2 to WU Tharanga, Tendulkar takes out the well-set Tharanga. Full in length, lands on the middle stump line and shapes down. Tharanga is walking all over the crease and tries to dab it to the on side, fails and is hit in front of leg and middle. Would have hit leg. Tendulkar is getting some movement there. In the previous over, it was in the air and now, it is off the track.. 133/4

TOTAL43.3 Ov (RR: 4.25, 195 Mins)185
Fall of wickets: 1-25 (Robin Uthappa, 6.5 ov), 2-43 (Sourav Ganguly, 10.5 ov), 3-44 (Sachin Tendulkar, 11.3 ov), 4-98 (Virender Sehwag, 22.5 ov), 5-112 (Yuvraj Singh, 27.4 ov), 6-112 (MS Dhoni, 28.1 ov), 7-136 (Ajit Agarkar, 34.4 ov), 8-159 (Rahul Dravid, 37.3 ov), 9-161 (Zaheer Khan, 38.6 ov), 10-185 (Munaf Patel, 43.3 ov)
6.5 to RV Uthappa, Got him! Short of a good length, on the off, Uthappa crashes that one back down the pitch. It's hit hard but to the left of Chaminda Vaas who moves aside watchfully, keeps his eyes on the ball and pulls off a stunning catch. That is some catch from the crafty left-arm seamer!. 25/1
10.5 to SC Ganguly, Oh! Got 'em. Having been bogged down for a few deliveries, Ganguly tries to break the shackles. He coems down the track and tries to launch it over mid-off. The ball is a canny Vass off-cutter and leaves the batsman. Ganguly can only manage a thick edge and the ball balloons wide of mid-on, where Muralitharan rushes back and stretches full to pull off a beauty. He dropped Uthappa earlier (that was a tough chance) but there was no way he was going to let this go. His team-mates mob him in celebration. 43/2
34.4 to AB Agarkar, Dravid is in danger of being left stranded. Full in length, on the off stump line Agarkar goes for a risky lofted drive, ends up ballooning it to Arnold at mid-on.. He doesn't make any mistake and India are tottering at 136 for 7.. 136/7
11.3 to SR Tendulkar, and Tendulkar goes! Could this be his last World Cup innings? The ball pitched outside off stump, nipped back, Tendulkar lunged forward, the ball hit the inside edge of the bat and crashed into leg stump, huge huge wicket for Sri Lanka and India are fading away.. 44/3
22.5 to V Sehwag, Big wicket. Murali takes out Sehwag and India slip further as Sri Lanka tighten the screws. It was floated outside the off stump, Sehwag leans forward, and opens the bat-face as he tries to drive - he had been beaten earlier in this over, trying to play a similar shot, this time connects and sends it straight to Mahela who swoops low at slip to take the sharp catch. Sri Lanka are climbing all over India. Bangladeshi fans must be whooping in delight.. 98/4
28.1 to MS Dhoni, Dhoni walks for a lbw. It was that plumb. Fab delivery. Landed on the middle stump line and hurried on straight - a stunning toppie, Dhoni had backed to cut and he had no place to hide. Tried to get his bat down in a hurry but the ball rushes on and rams the pad. Dead duck. What a bowler!. 112/6
38.6 to Z Khan, And then there were one. A flighted-up doosra, on the leg and middle stump line, produces a lofted stroke from Zaheer. He wanted to swing it to the cow corner, instead it flies down the throat of Malinga at long-on. Sri Lanka are just a wicket away from the win.. 161/9
37.3 to R Dravid, Gone! Dravid falls and that could be the end of the Indian hopes. He charges down the track and lofts a fullish delivery straight to Murali at long-off. Murali moves to his left and takes it. Pumps his fist in the air and all the Sri Lankan fielders rush towards him.. 159/8
43.3 to MM Patel, That's the end! All over! Munaf heaves this one to the leg side and Chaminda Vaas runs around on the ropes and takes the catch that ends the game! Sri Lanka have won by 69 runs. India are all but knocked out of the World Cup. 185/10
