12.2 to MA Agarwal, edged and got him! Gets Mayank to play forward, which he does, but the ball hits the seam and moves away to take the edge as second slip gobbles this up. This was just about the perfect length from KG. Mayank had to play at that. South Africa are on top here.. 33/2 42.1 to AM Rahane, caught behind! Or is he? Nagging line around off, Rahane is beaten for sure, while poking at it a the ball holds its line after pitching on off. The umpire gives it out, Rahane consults Kohli and reviews it. Let's see the replay - pitching on off, straightens off the pitch, Rahane closes the face of the bat towards leg for the angle, and UltraEdge shows there's a spike, there's an edge and the review is struck down! It may have taken the thigh too after that, which might have confused Rahane in the split-second, but there's a spike so the on-field decision stays. Another breakthrough from Rabada, another blow for India. 116/4 70.5 to JJ Bumrah, the short ball from Rabada does it, too hot to handle for Bumrah. Short and rising quickly, the ball chased Bumrah towards leg, he wanted to defend in front of his chest but the extra bounce took the top half and lobbed to the slip cordon where Elgar from second slip goes behind third and pouches it. 210/8 72.3 to V Kohli, Rabada gets Kohli's edge as well, that's the big one! Rabada has his arms in the air, a dejected Kohli is walking back. Kohli moved across to off again, reaching for the ball, Rabada pitched it shorter, it shaped away, Kohli poked at it with the bat slightly open and tickled it behind. 211/9
18 | 5 | 42 | 1 | 2.33 | 88 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 2 | ||
11.2 to KL Rahul, got him! Terrific from Olivier, they kept bowling dots, built pressure and now have snuffed out the big fish. Olivier bangs one in, pushes Rahul onto the back foot but he makes the mistake of feeling for the ball outside off and gets a thin nick that is gleefully accepted by the keeper.. 31/1
18 | 6 | 55 | 3 | 3.05 | 89 | 11 | 0 | 0 | 0 | ||
37.3 to CA Pujara, gets the outside edge! Didn't start the over too well, did well to adjust his length, and then line and bowls the perfect ball to make Pujara play around the fifth stump. Uses the angle from around the wicket, brings it in, Pujara pokes and edges it behind. 95/3 60.3 to RR Pant, got him and it's the extra bounce that has nabbed Pant! He was looking to use the width to steer it over gully but the ball got big on him and it ended up being a simple catch to the fielder. A threatening stand has been broken.. 167/5 62.5 to R Ashwin, there's the wicket and it's Jansen's change of angle that has done the trick! This time he bits the bait. He slants this a bit further away, gets the ball to nip away just a wee bit. Ashwin feels for the ball and gets a faint nick through to the keeper.. 175/6
14.3 | 7 | 33 | 1 | 2.27 | 76 | 6 | 0 | 0 | 0 | ||
77.3 to Mohammed Shami, taken at point, a sharp catch lunging forward by Bavuma as Shami steers the ball square, but in the air. Hang on, they're checking if it's clean so the umpires have come together. Bavuma had his left knee down as the ball dipped in front of him, and on first glance it looks like it's clean, the fingers under the ball. The third umpire wants a zoomed-in view as well. Oooh, just when the ball lands, it could be that the finger tips weren't completely under the ball, but the visuals aren't 100% conclusive. Third umpire says, "I don't have conclusive evidence that it bounced". Shami walks back and the Indian fielders start their drills already. 223/10
5 | 2 | 14 | 1 | 2.80 | 22 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | ||
67.4 to SN Thakur, has he chipped it to short cover? The third umpire needs to check this. Well, he has chipped it, the point is whether the fielder has taken it cleanly or not while diving forward. Pitched up, pushed on the up gently on the off side and Petersen went forward on the ground, got his fingers under it and the third umpire is convinced it's clean. 205/7 |

4.4 to D Elgar, Bumrah strikes and it's the big one of Elgar! Edged to first slip as Elgar goes in front of off stump, the ball moves from leg to off, takes a thick outside edge and goes straight into Pujara's hands at first slip at a comfortable height. Kohli is pumped, to say the least. 10/1 8.2 to AK Markram, got him! Dream start for India. This one jags back on sharply from outside off, Markram leaves with the assuredness of someone who knows where his off-stump is - perhaps he did - but there's no way he would've envisaged this coming back as much as it did. The off-stump takes a walk. India strike early.. 17/2 62.2 to M Jansen, Bumrah wins this battle with Jansen. A length ball angling in, Jansen looks to defend but ends up playing inside the line - his front foot wasn't going towards the ball. Misses it completely and the off stump goes for a cartwheel. 176/7 64.4 to KD Petersen, big wicket! A length ball around off, a bit of extra bounce. Petersen looks to defend but gets an outside edge to Pujara's right who goes down on his knees and grabs it. Bumrah gets his fourth and India must be fancying a lead here. 179/8 76.3 to L Ngidi, and that's the five-for for Bumrah. A length ball around off, Ngidi was looking to work it on the leg side, gets a leading edge and an easy catch for Ashwin at extra cover. 210/10
16 | 3 | 64 | 2 | 4.00 | 62 | 7 | 0 | 1 | 1 | ||
20.2 to KA Maharaj, castles him with a beauty! Maharaj plays for one that darts away but this one does the opposite - nips back in to beat the inside edge and flatten the middle stump. He can be wayward but when in rhythm, Umesh is a fine, fine bowler who will threaten the stumps or the edge regularly. Terrific stuff.. 45/3 39.2 to HE van der Dussen, snuffs him out with a sucker ball! Straightforward catch by the skipper at second slip. This one swung away late, good shape away from Umesh, Rassie had to play at that and he went with hard hangs to get a thick edge, flew at a comfortable height to Kohli. India get a big wicket just as South Africa were starting to dig in. Umesh really deserved that wicket , he's bowled superbly so far.. 112/4

55.2 to T Bavuma, excellent catch by Kohli, Shami breaks the stand. Shami pulls his length just a little back. In the corridor and Bavuma just hangs his bat out. Gets an outside edge as the ball shapes away. It goes low to Kohli's left at second slip and for a moment, it felt like this too will fall short but Kohli swooped low and across and pouched it with both hands, centimetres above the ground. That was Kohli's 100th catch in Test cricket. 159/5 55.4 to K Verreynne, Shami gets two in one over. A length ball around fifth stump, Verreynne comes forward, a tentative poke and Shami once again finds the outside edge with that slight away movement. It goes low to Pant's right, he dives across to grab this. 159/6
12 | 2 | 37 | 1 | 3.08 | 54 | 4 | 0 | 0 | 0 | ||
71.3 to K Rabada, better connection this time but Bumrah pouches it. Fuller again from Thakur, Rabada once again chips it, towards long-off. Bumrah, who is a bit deeper than regular mid-off, pedals back and sideways to his left and and grabs it. 200/9

4.5 to MA Agarwal, edged and taken at first slip! Mayank's gone and his tour ends in a whimper after a promising start in Centurion. Too good from Rabada. Full and around off, the angle forces Mayank to play but the ball just about jags away a wee bit to fly off the edge as he jabs at that and first slip takes a good catch. It was flying but he held on did Elgar.. 20/1 18.6 to AM Rahane, that is an absolute snorter that Rahane has gloved to slip! Or has he, on the rebound? Not given by the umpire. South Africa review. Rahane was unmoved. Yes, definite glove there, but let's break it down for you. Rabada bowls an absolute pearl, this one lifts awkwardly to have Rahane fending, the ball flies to the keeper who leaps high but can only lob it up off his glove, Elgar at first slip is alert enough to grab the rebound and South Africa are ecstatic.. 58/4 58.5 to UT Yadav, got him! Feeling for the ball outside off, the feeble edge has been pouched. He really didn't need to play at that but well, that's what he did. Pant could be left stranded here.. 180/8

5.5 to KL Rahul, taken at second slip! Rahul is enticed into the drive but this isn't quite there, the ball flies off the edge and it's a very good catch by Markram. India are in early trouble or what? Rahul has enough time to sit and wonder if he really needed to have a go at that one. For some strange reason, Rahul appeared to go half-heartedly at that one.. 24/2 17.2 to CA Pujara, wicket second ball of the day. Just like on Day 2! That is a brilliant take and Pujara will not be happy with himself, caught down the legside, but the bounce played a part in strangling him. Banged in short on leg stump, Jansen will always get awkward bounce with his height, Pujara looking to get inside the line and defend it down, the bounce makes him lose control a bit and he feathers it down, where leg slip dives to his right and plucks out a great catch. Was airborne, horizontal to the ground. 57/3 63.6 to Mohammed Shami, Shami is hustled for pace, surprised by the short ball as he looks to pull, gets a top-edge and the short leg fielder takes an absolute dolly. After digging in for so long, that's the last shot Pant would've expected him to play,.. 189/9 67.3 to JJ Bumrah, straight up, and straight in. Bavuma takes the steepler at point and Pant is left stranded on 100. Bumrah goes for a hoick but it's a terrible idea, gets a top-edge and it's taken safely. South Africa need 212 to win the series. That's tea on day three. Rahul Dravid is up on the balcony to applaud Pant as he walks off. Terrific knock under the circumstances.. 198/10
14 | 5 | 21 | 3 | 1.50 | 73 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | ||
48.2 to V Kohli, great catch at second slip. After all that patience outside off, Kohli's been undone by going after one that is well outside off. Full on a sixth or seventh stump line, Kohli went on the front foot and aimed a booming drive at it, got a thick edge that flew at rapid pace. Markram makes a difficult catch look easy, timing his jump perfectly to pluck it with arm stretched out fully above his head. The ball swung a touch as it was reaching Kohli, which is why he perhaps got the edge instead of middling it.. 152/5 52.3 to R Ashwin, edged straight to gully. Ashwin was looking to play his shots, but that's a bit of a loose shot. Fullish length outside off, looking to drive, the ball has nipped away a tad, gets the edge for a straightforward catch to gully. 162/6 56.1 to SN Thakur, the late movement does the trick and Shardul's gone! Lungi bowls this full on off, the ball moves away late and Shardul, who is looking to work this through mid-on, gets a thin edge through to the keeper. India are crumbling very quickly here. Pant stands in the way of South Africa and a target below 200.. 170/7

29.4 to D Elgar, full ball going down leg, he's looked to flick it. Pant catches it diving to his right and the Indians think there's a nick. Not given. Kohli opts to review again. There's a spike as the ball passes bat and Elgar will have to go! Kohli is pumped and animated and vocal. India thought they had Elgar earlier, they get him soon after. This is a harmless length ball on off-stump, Petersen looks to open the bat face and dab it into the off side, but plays a tad outside the line and ends up getting a thick inside edge onto the stumps. He walks off in disappointment but the dressing stands to applaud a terrific knock that could be taking South Africa home.. 155/3
