Scorecard summary
Royal Challengers Bangalore158/5(20 overs)
Kings XI Punjab163/6(19.5 overs)

11.20 pm Kings XI have won yet another away game. This one came after a severe hiccup at the end. They started well, containing Royal Challengers, and then reined them in as well after Gayle and Kohli threatened to post about 190. Kings XI were chasing comfortably until the very end when Mahmood, Hussey and Nayar got run out and created a tense finish. Chawla, however, ensured that all their hard work wasn't wasted.

Ibad: "Ryan Harris is the first Australian to return from the West Indies and be on the winning side." I wonder what's up with Harris though, bowled two overs and went off the field.

Abhi: "Kings XI are now 'Away Kings'. They beat MI in Mumbai, KKR in Kolkata, CSK in Chennai and now RCB in Bangalore! They shouldn't play at home at all!"

Kings XI have jumped to fourth place with this win, while Royal Challengers stay sixth. Here's the points table.

I'll have the presentation for you shortly, my Man of the Match is Mr. Mahmood. He took out Gayle, AB and McDonald and bowled a stupendous last over, finishing with 4-0-20-3.

Hussey: "We tried to clutch defeat from the jaws of victory ... but a win is a win. We have confidence now. We need to go back and perform in front of our home crowd."

Vettori: "We've got some big games coming up, we need to get back on that roll of winning and make the semis. The last five overs of both innings were interesting, lots of wickets lots of pressure. Only scoring 30 runs off our last five overs really hurt us."

Hussey says Ryan Harris got hit on the calf with the ball and so had to go off the field.

Mahmood is the man of the match: "Love it, I'm enjoying my cricket. Two big wins. quite pleased with the performance. We just believe in ourselves, we like each other's company, each others' success. Everyone's working hard, it's paying off."

Nithin will have the final word today: "44 matches and not even one decided by a super over ! BORING !!!"

And on that note, have a good night. Thank you for your emails, we'll be back tomorrow. Cheers.

Vinay to Chawla, SIX runs

Chawla's won the game! He's slammed a length ball angling into him high and far over long on with a powerful swing of the bat, there's so much relief in that Kings XI dug out. They were on the verge of victory and then got into an awful mess with poor running

Two from two, no matter what Kings XI have got to run on this ball. They have wickets in hand so they have got to try and level the scores this ball.

Vinay from round the wicket ...

Vinay to Dogra, 1 run

short of a length and Dogra swivels and pulls to the fielder on the square leg boundary

Vinay to Dogra, 2 runs

full ball outside off stump, Dogra drives and finally gets it off the pitch, he's hit it through cover and the fielder from the sweeper boundary runs to his right to field

Five off four balls.

Vinay to Dogra, no run

dropped but a dot ball, Dogra drives the ball hard and straight right back at the bowler, Vinay can't take it, a tough chance, that was hit hard

Vinay to Dogra, no run

Dogra tries to hit through the off side but mis-hits it on the off side, will they run? no they don't. The crowd is right behind their team

What do I know, Zaheer has done a Morkel. Two runs and two run outs in the 19th over. Five to get off the final over. How has this happened? Vinay Kumar to bowl the final over. Kings XI's biggest threat is panic.

Chawla slogs at the final ball and gets a bottom edge into the ground to AB, they don't run.

Ganesh: "This is what is called as TWIST." I'll say.

Khan to Dogra, OUT

a third run out, all hell is breaking loose! Dogra dropped the ball close on the off side and ran for a non-existent single, Nayar responded. Kohli sprinted in from cover and picked up, he continued running towards the striker's end and once he got close enough he under-armed the ball into the stumps

Abhishek Nayar run out (Kohli) 2 (8m 3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 66.66

Paras Dogra is the new batsman. Will Kings XI keep their cool?

Khan to Hussey, 1 run, OUT

what's going on? Hussey's been run out! He pulled the short of a length ball towards long leg and ran the single, he then sprinted back for the second and dived full length, there was no second run there. The throw from Vinay wasn't the best but AB moved in front of the stumps to collect and then whipped around to break them

David Hussey run out (Vinay Kumar/†de Villiers) 45 (42m 29b 2x4 4x6) SR: 155.17
Khan to Hussey, no run

good length from round the wicket on off and middle stump, played back to the bowler, the Chinnaswamy roars the dot ball, and then begins to chant their team's name

Khan to Nayar, 1 run

played towards point for a quick single, Hussey was desperate to get on strike

Khan to Nayar, no run

Zaheer hits the pads with one that angles into the left-hander, no runs

With seven needed off 12 balls, I'm going to stick my neck out and say that no one in the Bangalore attack can do a Morkel.
