It was a solid batting display from the Reds to win the final game of this IP20 festival. Commins top scored with 37 and it always felt that this team had too much for the Lightning.
The Reds hit 8 sixes, whilst the Lightning didn't hit any. That was only one of the differences between the two teams.
With Matt Ford hitting the final ball of the Innings for six, not only did it mean that the Reds won by five wickets but they also picked up a bonus point. That could be valuable at the end of the season.
The Lightning attack looked inexperienced without Barry McCarthy and it showed. None of the bowlers was spared punishment.
That brings us to the end of a great three days down here in the Mardkye, and the Interpros now go into hibernation for a month, as the Ireland Men's team head to Zimbabwe for the ODI world cup qualifiers.
Liam McCarthy has just been named as the player of the match
Thanks for following along these last three days, hopefully you'll be able to join me in Bready in July for the next festival. Until then, this is Justin saying goodbye from Cork.
