all over! Steyn gets ten in the match for the second consecutive Test as he splays the stumps! Simple death, pitching full on middle stump, swinging, and sneaking through his shaky defensive and South Africa fairly explode on the pitch in raucous celebration! An innings and 59-run hands them the series 2-0!
South Africa vs New Zealand, 2nd Test at Centurion, Nov 16 2007 - Ball by Ball Commentary
The entire Centurion crowd stand to applaud Dale Steyn, the local boy. Great scenes. South Africa sweep New Zealand with a crushing defeat. Remember, New Zealand had not played a Test since December and things went from bad to worse after Jo'burg. Again, Steyn was the destroyer with another ten-wicket haul. The top order was feeble again and did not come up with any answer to Steyn's hostility. No partnerships to speak of bar two aggressive innings from Stephen Fleming. New Zealand lost Craig Cumming, who fractured his right cheek, which was a big blow.
South Africa's top order read the same sheet, with only Jacques Kallis and Hashim Amla among the runs. Thats an issue they have to address later, after they enjoy the celebrations. Mark Gillespie, on debut, took five wickets to bring New Zealand back for a session or so before a frustrating ninth-wicket stand between Steyn and Andre Nel completely robbed the momentum back.
A clean sweep of the Test series, after winning in Pakistan. South Africa look cock-a-hoop. Victory by an innings and 59 runs.
Not hard to imagine that Steyn, for his ten wickets, including a career-best 6 for 49 just now, is the Man of the Match and Man of the Series. He finished with 20 wickets in just two Tests. What a moment for the young fast bowler.

full and wide this time, inviting the loose shot, but again he holds back
short outside off stump and he wisely holds back the bat
And its Chris Martin out as the last man.
oh de Villiers you beauty! Dives full stretch to his right left at cover, going upwards, and plucks a complete stunner to get rid of the captain, leaning forward and driving a half-volley on the up! South Africa one away from victory! Some effort that by an acrobatic de Villiers
slashed! Short and wide, Vettori goes after it and edges up and over the slips
short of a length outside off stump, he watchfully leaves it alone for Boucher
short of a length on the stumps, Vettori gets tall and keeps it down to leg
good length on off stump, Vettori watchfully pushes to point, Prince
full on off stump, Vettori shuffles and punches back past mid-off, top shot, Harris gives chase but is sluggish
South Africa all over New Zealand now. Iain O'Brien is next out but not facing yet.
call it the commentator's curse but he edges the next delivery! Full and wide, again swinging away and drawing him forward, from deep in the crease, and the thick outside edge flies low and hard to Kallis at second slip! Thats another five-wicket haul for Steyn!
much fuller on the stumps and he dangerously plays from deep in the crease, defending it back well to Steyn ...he can bat, Gillespie
lovely seam position again, pitching short of a length and going away from Gillespie, who pulls out of the shot
slower ball, short of a length and moving away, Gillespie leaves it be
Mark Gillespie out to face a red-hot Dale Steyn. New Zealand effectively seven down.
outswing does the trick! Good delivery, pitching full and deviating away after sucking McCullum into a faulty attempted leg-side shot, he gets a thick outside-edge which flies into Smith's safe hands at first slip!
short and wide, McCullum tucks into it and leaves it be, getting down onto knee
full on leg stump, McCullum drives with an inside-edge but picks the gap wide of Harris at midwicket and the tall man lumbers after, cutting it off near the ropes
full and wide of off stump, McCullum gets onto the front foot and leaves it
too full down the pads and it clips McCullum and runs to fine leg for leg-byes
short of a length on middle and leg, tucks him up, and he works it off the hips
full and wide, McCullum gets forward and shoulders arms
