In the meantime, Oval Invincibles have won the toss and will bowl against London Spirit. Here's Matt Roller's coverage of the London Derby. Hop over there to catch the action, and thank you for coming out here. See ya!

Luke Wells is the POTM for his 57. He says that him opening was a last-minute decision to create a right-left opening combination. Says that he enjoyed a shortened game where they was time to not think and only react. Says he's trying to adapt after playing different rolls. Adds that the atmosphere among the Welsh Fire has been relaxed.

ICYMI:

Stat from Sampath: Welsh Fire's first win since 2021, and only their second win in the last 15 matches. They lost all the eight played in the previous edition

6:20pm: Winning start for Welsh Fire. They will be delighted with the win and the explosive burst from the Shah. They bowled just four bowlers and each of the bowlers used their skill and experience brilliantly. Shaheen was taken on by Holden at the back end of his double-set but the first two balls nailing out the batters were crucial. Rauf, Willey and Payne were brilliant in reacting to the batters trying to aim for the boundaries in the midwicket/cover pockets. Buttler and Holden did manage to connect with some impeccable shots. But with a high ask in a shortened game, it was too much.

Avinash: "Extras made all the difference :)"

40
1
Payne to Buttler, 1 run

Squeezed down to fine leg but Payne nailed the yorker again. Buttler tried to swipe it square on the leg side but got it off the inside edge

39
4
Payne to Buttler, FOUR runs

Picked up, Willey overruns and slips. Falls back and that goes for four but all okay. It was a low full toss that whipped to deep square leg

38
2
Payne to Buttler, 2 runs

Payne follows him and gets the yorker just well enough to deny the boundary. Buttler made room again and drilled it to the right of long-on. They scamper for two

17 needed off 3. Three sixes or bust

37
2
Payne to Buttler, 2 runs

Yorker is wedged off the toe, keeper has to run just to the edge of the circle and Buttler takes two. Buttler made room and tried drilling it over long-on

36
6
Payne to Buttler, SIX runs

Picked up, hit into the wind and the skimmer clears deep square leg.

Payne has 25 to defend in the last set. Buttler on strike which is a positive for Originals

1
Willey to Turner, 1 run

Mows but can't clear deep square. Swung off the hips and it went to the right of deep midwicket. Stopped in front of the deep-square boundary

34
W
Willey to Walter, OUT

Too wide for Walter to reach and he's caught behind! Slower one is short and outside the off-side tramline. Walter went after it with his upper body leaning across, he tried to cut it hard and square. Edged it to the keeper

6
Willey to Walter, SIX runs

Pulled into the trees! Bouncer just outside off, Walter stood tall and whiplashed it. Dismissed it deep into the stands over midwicket. It deflected away to go out. 26 needed off 7 now

32
W
Willey to Holden, OUT

Great tumbling catch from Phillips. What does he have for food?! He ran swiftly to the left and went down to his left. Managed to hold onto it. Willey goes wider outside off to deny Holden from hitting towards midwicket. He tried to carve it away but could only slice it

Max Holden c Phillips b Willey 37 (18b 7x4 0x6 22m) SR: 205.55

Willey to Holden, FOUR runs

Pulled. The camera pans, searching for the ball. It goes towards cow corner. One-bounce four. Shortish ball was fetched across

2
Haris Rauf to Buttler, 2 runs

Top edge off the pull... falls safe at midwicket! No one in the ring in front of square. Shortish ball had Buttler make room and go for the full-power pull.

38 needed off 11

29
1
Haris Rauf to Holden, 1 run

Bouncer just down leg. Helped fine with the pull. Ball spins away from deep fine leg, but he's to stop it

Around

28
1
Haris Rauf to Buttler, 1 run

Pulls this shortish ball to deep midwicket. Went off the bottom of the bat, must've been the slower one

27
6
Haris Rauf to Buttler, SIX runs

Oh my word, he's smoked it over midwicket with what might be the most perfect bat swing. Stable base pro-max deluxe. Buttler just waited for the back-of-length ball to arrive towards him and hit it deep into the stands

26
Haris Rauf to Buttler, no run

Pace being pace (yaar) beats Buttler's bat swing. It was on a hard length and Buttler tried to heave it over midwicket

Timeout. That bye was crucial as it turns out. Is this the start of Buttler cutting loose?

25
4
Payne to Buttler, FOUR runs

Through mid-off this time. Buttler cleared his front leg and mowed the full ball. Sizzled the grass and beat the fielder, diving to the right

24
6
Payne to Buttler, SIX runs

Heli-whipped over long-on. Kinda like the helicopter shot but drilled it over long-on. Unbelievable skill to elevate that yorker-length ball over the fielder

23
1b
Payne to Holden, 1 bye

Tries the switch hit, the full ball is slow and Holden can't ramp it over short third. It goes to the keeper and they sneak a bye

22
1
Payne to Buttler, 1 run

Very low full toss. Buttler was deep in the crease and drilled it to long-on

21
1
Payne to Holden, 1 run

Top edged, long-on runs in but can't get to it. He had to think about the dive, decided not to and used his body as the second line of defence. It was a shortish ball that Holden tried to belt down the ground. Skied it up in the end
