New Zealand vs West Indies, 2nd Test at Wellington, NZ vs WI, Dec 10 2025 - Ball by Ball Commentary
6:35pm: A day that started with the West Indies holding a slight upper hand in the first session -- almost reaching 100 for the loss of two wickets but then New Zealand made a roaring comeback. Wickets began to tumble at regular intervals with no one able to push on for long and convert starts into something substantial. Tickner, the tormentor-in-chief, made the ball talk and bowled with real venom and accuracy, ruffling the batters with some seriously hostile spells. Rae was firing on all cylinders and chipped in with three wickets on his debut -- a memorable day for him! It was unfortunate, though, that Tickner had to leave the field and was helped off on a stretcher after injuring his shoulder while fielding. Let's hope it's nothing serious and that he can return to the field soon. New Zealand have made a stable start but the ball is nipping around and West Indies bowlers have asked some good questions. Should be an engrossing second day ahead and thank you for your company today!
Rahul: "Everyone's talking about the absence of Rourke, Henry and Jamieson for NZ but WI are also missing both the Josephs and Holder as well. So both the pace attacks are depleted, probably evens it out ?"
Abhi: "As much as we can appreciate the 4th innings heroics of the windies, First innings is where they have been losing tests. Playing catch-up far too often in the test always puts them on the back foot and hoping for a miracle "
Deemi Zafar: "With these batting averages of their first six batters, it is certainly a miracle for West Indies to have saved the first Test: Campbell (Tests 25, FC 31), King (Tests 18, FC 33), Hodge (Tests 25, FC 29) Hope (Tests 27, FC 35), Chase (Tests 25, FC 33)!"
