Former empire and Barbados player Darnley Boxill is getting an
opportunity to improve his skills as a coach and rub shoulders
with some of the greats of cricket.
Boxill, coach of the CHIC Combined Schools South cricket team,
will be attending the Cricket Alive International Cricket
Conference in Birmingham, England, on Monday and Tuesday, thanks
to the sponsorship of Caribbean Home Insurance.
Former Test players Bob Woolmer, Sir Richard Hadlee, Clive Rice
and Terry Jenner will make up the panel of specialists at the
conference which will have seminars and practical
demonstrations. It is being organised by the English and Welsh
Cricket Board.
"As a coach, I follow what is going on in the international
scene and the course was mentioned in the International Cricket
Magazine. It was superb because of the content and it brought
together some of the most successful people in cricket," said
Boxill.
