Former England batsmen Mark Butcher, Surrey's captain, and Mark Ramprakash have agreed new two-year contracts which will keep them at The Oval until the end of the 2007 season.
Butcher's predecessor Jon Batty and bowlers Tim Murtagh and Jade Dernbach have agreed similar deals, and Rory Hamilton-Brown has been awarded a three-year contract.
"All these players have an important part to play in the next few years if we are to rebuild successfully," said coach Alan Butcher, Mark's father. "I'm confident in every player's ability and I'm sure they will do Surrey proud. These signings show our commitment to blend youth and experience."
