Congratulations to Cable & Wireless (Cayman) for another wonderful weekend
of cricket. It's impossible to believe that the 1999 weekend could be
surpassed. But then again, I say that every year. 2000 CCW was awesome. The
weather was good and the stars did not disappoint. Of course, Sir Viv
Richards over-shadows everyone. His charisma is known worldwide. It has
become more intense as every one believes he should do the same things
regardless of the years. Even so, the other guests were warmly greeted and
assisted in transforming Cayman into the cricket center of the Indies.
The stars this year were from the past brigade - Sir Viv Richards and
Michael Holding; from present players - Franklin Rose, Reon King and Sherwin
Campbell. This year the schedule allowed samples of Cayman life with a visit
to the exquisite Stingray City as the key point.
Surprise, surprise! Famous radio and television commentator Tony Cozier was
here and joined Michael Holding in the radio broadcast of the feature match.
