  • Devang Gandhi's innings (75 runs)is the ninth highest by an Indian on his first appearance against NewZealand.Indian record is held by Polly Umrigar who scored 223 at Hyderabad in 1955-56.
  • The 137 run partnership between Gandhi and Ramesh is India's third highest for opening wicket against NewZealand after the world record 413 run partnership (between Vinoo Mankad and Pankaj Roy) at Chennai in 1955-56 and unbroken 149 run partnership at Auckland in 1989-90
  • Rahul Dravid (87*) scored his first fifty against NewZealand in his third Test.He also has scored two centuries against NewZealanders.Dravid has now scored 17 fifties in 30 Tests.
  • Sachin Tendulkar (54*) scored his fourth fifty in 10th Test against NewZealand,22nd in his 69th Test and 5th in 18th Test as captain.
  • Tendulkar's innings (54 not out) is also his best against NewZealand on home soil.This obliterates his previous best of 52* at Chennai in 1995-96.
