Hamilton's cricketers face a nervous wait to see if they will win the Fergus Hickey tournament for the 2002/03 season.
Only one round of the Northern Districts' domestic competition remains and while Hamilton lead with 42 points, six points clear of Northland, Hamilton have the bye in the last round.
To deny Hamilton their chance, Northland require an outright victory over Poverty Bay in their last round match.
Points are: Hamilton 42, Northland 36, Thames Valley 24, Counties Manukau 20, Poverty Bay 12, Bay of Plenty 12, Midlands 6.
