Karachi, Aug 2: The crucial and last Group B matches in the Under-15 World Challenge were washed out leaving Pakistan and Sri Lanka locked at three points each.
Pakistan, chasing 131 for victory against Zimbabwe, were two down with as many runs on the board from six balls when rain forced abandonment.
Sri Lanka were four for no loss from 1.5 overs while chasing South Africa's 135 when play ended.
Till our going to the press, it was not clear as to which of the two teams, Pakistan or Sri Lanka will join South Africa as qualifiers from Group B. According to the points table, Sri Lanka has a net-run-rate of 1.55 while Pakistan has a net-run-rate of -0.05.
However, if the playing conditions of the tournament are as that of the 1999 World Cup, Pakistan will advance after having defeated Sri Lanka by 36 runs in the league match.
Nevertheless, South Africa are through to the knock-out stage after accumulating five points from three matches.
India Knocked-out: Defending champions India were knocked out in the league stage when they were beaten by the West Indies by four wickets.
India scored 228 in 49 overs but West Indies's target was revised to 173 in 32 overs according to D/L method. The Windies achieved victory in the 30th over.
West Indies became the second team from Group A to advance. England topped the Group by finishing the league matches unbeaten. In the last game, England defeated the Netherlands by nine runs.
