KARACHI, June 10: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is yet to pay
Nasimul Ghani his fee as cricket manager of the national team on
the last summer tour of England, informed sources said.
Nasimul Ghani was appointed coach of the team by the board of
Arif Ali Khan Abbasi which was succeeded by Majid Khan's setup
before the start of the tour last May. Well placed sources said
Nasimul Ghani has dispatched several reminders to the PCB but he
has not been answered. Sources maintained that the present setup
was evaluating the arrangement of Nasimul Ghani with Arif
Abbasi. "Nasimul Ghani was appointed on similar lines as that of
Intikhab Alam. Ghani was to get an equal amount as that of
senior most cricketer in the team which in that case of Salim
Malik," sources revealed. They said Majid Khan was unhappy with
the contract as he had hired the services of Mushtaq Mohammad at
Rs 40,000 per month. "The PCB is seeking a way out."
Nasimul Ghani, who is tipped to replace Mushtaq Mohammad for the
coming tour of Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup, it may be recalled,
was removed from the job on the mid-tour after Pakistan had won
the first Test against England. Sources in the PCB said the
board had little option but to pay Nasimul Ghani the amount. "It
was an agreement between the previous board and Nasimul Ghani
which the present setup is obliged to fulfil," sources said.
