Simon Millington replaces Dinesh Tandon as HKCA Chairman

KCC's Simon Millington takes over the reins as Chairman of the Hong Kong Cricket Association after being elected unopposed at the HKCA's reconvened Annual General Meeting, held at the Hong Kong Cricket Club.

Kowloon Cricket Club's Simon Millington takes over the reins as Chairman of the Hong Kong Cricket Association after being elected unopposed at the HKCA's reconvened Annual General Meeting, held at the Hong Kong Cricket Club last night. An expected challenge from Suresh Ghevriya was not forthcoming after the LSWCC candidate withdrew his nomination earlier in the day.
Mr Millington replaces Dinesh Tandon as head of HKCA's Executive Committee after Tandon announced his intention to step down after three years in the position. Tandon becomes a Vice President of the HKCA, ex-officio.
HKCA President, Captain Shahzada Saleem Ahmed was re-electred unopposed after agreeing to continue in the position despite announcing his intention to step down earlier in the year.
Other new faces on the Executive Committee for 2012-13 are Hong Kong Cricket Club's Justin Pearce as Honarary Treasurer, replacing Albert Lee, and Suresh Ghevriya as Little Sai Wan Cricket Club's representative, replacing the long-serving Sohail Murshed.
Former HKCA Chairman, Mike Walsh, also returns to the HKCA Executive Committee as the Chairman of the Association of Cricket Umpires and Scorers (Hong Kong China) for 2102-13, replacing Roger Nissim.
In a close vote Ms Agnes Ng from Hong Kong Cricket Club narrowly defeated Kowloon Cricket Club's nominee Ms Lisa Cameron for the position of Women's Cricket Representative.
