Galle's J. C. Gamage took a hat-trick which enabled Galle CC to get first innings points against Moors Sports Club in the Premier Division cricket match at Braybrooke Place yesterday. Moors SC who were 46 for 5 wkts overnight in reply to Galle's 166, were all out for 104, with Gamage taking 3 for 16 which included a hat-trick.

Galle made 166 for 4 wickets at close of play.

The 25th 'Battle of Kotte' between Sri Jayawardenapura M.V. ended in a tame draw at the Premadasa International Stadium at Khettarama yesterday.

Suranga de Silva of St. Sebastian's made a fine 118 with 14 boundaries and a six in their drawn schools cricket match with Sri Sumangala at Moratuwa yesterday and have now scored 1050 runs in 18 games this season. Sri Sumangala made 269 for 8 declared in their first innings, while St. Sebastian's replied with 323 for 8 declared. Sri Sumangala in their second turn were 73 for 4 when stumps were drawn.

Two superb centuries by Chaminda Mendis (112 with 12 fours and a six) and Dulip Samaraweera (156 with 19 boundaries and three sixes) who put on 205 runs for the first wicket saw Colts obtain first innings points from table leaders Sebastianites in their Premier Cricket Tournament game at Moratuwa yesterday. The Sebs were all out for 148 in their first innings and Colts made 345 for 4 declared. In their second turn, Sebastianites were 13 for 1 at close.

The St. Joseph's vs Trinity schools Cricket match ended in a tame draw at Darley Road yesterday. The highlights were the two half centuries by Johanne Jayasuriya (60) and Dilanka Perera (88) for St. Joseph's and Joes seamer R.de Silva's 5 for 12 in 12.2 overs.

St. Joseph's: 241 for 5 in 56 overs (Johanne Jayasuriya 60, D. D. Ranasinghe 25, Dilanka Perera 88, D. Pathirane 11, H. Hettiaratchi not out 24, K. Weeraratne 4 for 75).

Indika Gallage claimed 5 for 43 to help CCC edge out Kurunegala YCC on the first innings already in their Premier Cricket Tournament match at Maitland Crescent yesterday. CCC made 174 in their first innings and bundled out Kurunegala YCC for 163. CCC in their second turn were 106 for 1 at close with D. Hunukumbura unbeaten on 65 with nine fours.

Defending champions SSC helped by three half centuries by opener Shantha Kalavitigoda (68 with seven boundaries), Thilan Samaraweera (59 with nine fours) and Ruwan Galappathy (51 with four fours) have already obtained first innings points from Police in their Premier Cricket Tournament match at Maitland Place. Police made 252 and SSC replied with 275 for 6 at close.

Police: 252 in 87.3 overs (C. Liyanage 25, C. Silva 30, R. Wimalasiri 50, K. Mahinda, 34, H. Jayasuriya 4 for 48, Sanjeewa Ranatunga 3 for 19).

The Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka denies reports that Sri Lanka skipper Arjuna Ranatunga and Vice captain Aravinda de Silva are seeking election as vice presidents at the Board's AGM on Sunday March 28 at the Board Headquarters.

"Both players have expressed their concern and displeasure to these news items and stated that they have no intentions in getting involved in BCCSL administration," says Dammika Ranatunga - Chief Executive of the Cricket Board in a news release.

Skipper Deepal Madurapperuma (6 for 24) bowled BRC to first innings in their Premier Division cricket tournament match against Antonians at Havelock Park yesterday.

Antonians who were 37 for 2 wickets overnight in reply to BRC's 177, flopped against Madurapperuma's bowling and were all out for 126. BRC made 203 for 7 wickets in their second innings at close of play.

The inter-school cricket match between Kalutara Vidyalaya and Raddoluwa College ended in a draw at Kalutara on Friday.

The highlight of the match was the fine bowling of G. Geethavan of Kalutara Vidyalaya who took 6 for 34 in Raddoluwa's first innings score of 122.

Old Boys of St. Sebastian's College, Moratuwa will meet the present cricketers at a limited over match commencing at 9.45 a.m. on 7th March (Sunday), prior to the 'big match' scheduled for the following week. There will also be basketball matches at the college basketball courts between present and past students of the college.

Arranged as a fellowship and get-together this will be the 'launching pad' for the 'Sebastianites Walk' scheduled to be held on 10th April.
