Tight competition to decide Zone 2 challenger

A logjam has developed at the head of the Zone 2 Hawke Cup points table in the Central Districts region after games at the weekend.

Hawke's Bay is at the head of the table with 21 points, while Wanganui and Nelson are on 20 with Taranaki on 18.

The full points table is: Hawke's Bay 21, Wanganui 20, Nelson 20, Taranaki 18, Manawatu 17, Wairarapa 16, Marlborough 13, Horowhenua Kapiti 3.

Matches in round five are: Hawke's Bay v Wanganui, Taranaki v Wairarapa, Manawatu v Horowhenua Kapiti, Marlborough v Nelson.

The winner of Zone 2 will challenge the Hawke Cup holder Manawatu on February 15-17.
