Warning for Pakistanis
The new head of Pakistan's board yesterday warned that more
cricketers faced suspension if the inquiry into betting and
match-fixing allegations implicated them.
"If anybody else is found involved, he will not be spared. We want
the game clear from the match-fixing disease," said Mujeebur Rehman,
chairman of the ad hoc committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
The committee last week suspended captain Wasim Akram and leading
batsmen Salim Malik and Ijaz Ahmed.
Ijaz, 31, was questioned for four hours in Karachi yesterday by the
government's anti-corruption bureau.
