And then there were eight.
India and Pakistan may have gone and Ireland and Bangladesh advanced in their place, but the favourites remain with Australia in perfect shape to win the World Cup for the third time in a row.
Having started the tournament as 6/4 favourites, Australia are now in to 7/5 and with two points from their win over South Africa to carry through to the Super 8s, they could not be in a better position.
Andrew Symonds came through the South Africa game unscathed on his return from injury and they have dealt pretty well with the loss of Brett Lee in the bowling department. Their consistency is what keeps them above the rest and they are worthy favourites to win yet again.
South Africa didn't do too much wrong against the Aussies in the group and are 9/2 to pip them to the title while the big move has come from Sri Lanka, who have been slashed to just 4/1 after coming through the group that had contained India.
New Zealand, with two points from their win over England, are 11/2, while West Indies, who also have two points, are next at 13/2. The hosts should not be underestimated and I can see them getting through to the semi-finals now, at least.
Behind them, there is a big gap to England, who are 14/1. Michael Vaughan's side are inconsistent but capable of big performances, particularly if the likes of Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Flintoff hit top form.
With all due respect, those six will be fighting out for the semi-final berths as Bangladesh and Ireland, 66/1 and 500/1 respectively are the distinct minnows here.
Bangladesh could pinch a win, but Ireland will do well not to get battered in their remaining games.
Australia still look likely winners, but at the prices available right now, I would suggest an each-way bet on West Indies, at 13/2, with bet365 paying a third the odds the first two.
Cambers' Call:
West Indies E/W 13/2
