Yuvraj Singh is ready to take on West Indies and continue India's winning ways. Refreshed from a break following the triumphant one-dayers against England he is focused: "My mind is already on the challenges ahead," he told the Time of India newspaper. "We have played some good cricket in recent months and, therefore, we have to keep the momentum going."
But he insists that India will not be taking West Indies lightly, although they are a team in decline. "We have to set targets for ourselves and then work on them." And he said the tour of the Caribbean would be important in getting a feel for the conditions ahead of the World Cup there next year. "We have to get acclimatized," he added. "We will get a fair idea about different situations and conditions after playing five matches there."
Yuvraj added that he was happy with his place in the team and how the team is being managed - "Even the rotation policy is helping out team win matches," he says. "Earlier, I wasn't getting enough opportunities to bat for long. I used to bat at number 5 or 6. But now things have changed and I have moved up the order. I have been through a lot of situations that have enabled me to understand my responsibilities in the team."
So he's happy with his place in the side and with his batting. And, he says, these days he even enjoys bowling. "At the nets I try to work on one line and if I'm able to do something with the ball as well, it's great."
