Kevin Sinclair

The signature somersault celebration has almost made people wait for Kevin Sinclair to pick up a wicket each time he plays, and the offspinner has given himself enough opportunities to please the watching public.

He had a successful start to his List A career in late 2019, taking 13 wickets in his first nine games, including 4 for 20 in the Regional Super50 Cup final against Leeward Islands, to lead the West Indies Emerging Team to a 205-run win. That helped Sinclair earn an emerging player deal in the CPL in March 2020, and he was snapped up by Guyana Amazon Warriors, for whom he made his debut five months later.

Sinclair's five wickets at only 12.20 in CPL 2020 soon got him a call-up to the national team, and he started the T20I series against Sri Lanka in March 2021 in Coolidge. But he has only played six T20Is to date. In August 2022, he made his ODI debut against New Zealand. But, again, has played just seven of those for 11 wickets, the last game coming in July 2023.

He has continued to do well, especially in first-class cricket. There were the 18 wickets at 16.61 for Guyana in the West Indies Championship of 2022-23, and eight more at 20.75 in the Headley-Weekes tri-series that followed. In May 2023, Sinclair was also the highest wicket-taker with 13 in the three unofficial Tests for West Indies A against Bangladesh A. Inevitably, a Test debut followed. The Brisbane Test against Australia, in January 2024, remembered more for Shamar Joseph's heroics - Sinclair hit a crucial half-century from No. 8 in the first innings then.
