Sri Lanka seamer Nuwan Kulasekara has been ruled out of the rest of the Bangladesh tour and the Asia Cup with a groin injury. He will be replaced by another seamer, Dhammika Prasad, who is expected to join the squad on Wednesday.

Kulasekara sustained the injury during the first ODI on Monday in Mirpur. He had bowled six overs for 38 runs in the match that Sri Lanka won by 13 runs. He is also in the World T20 squad, which will also be played in Bangladesh.

Thirty-year-old Prasad has played 12 ODIs and taken 18 wickets. He last played an ODI nearly two years ago, in March 2012, during the tri-series in Australia which also involved India. He has been among the wickets off late in first-class matches and picked up six wickets against England Lions in Pallekele.

Kulu is a good work horse, but this opens up an opportunity for another Sri Lankan. Surprised they went with Prasad though...

We can see his form today and decide..... he is a good all- rounder.

He is superb!!! Acutely he is the general all-rounder of the side with anjelo.. Not thisara... He is got injured because he is doing 100./. Team. Not like Malinga and Thisara there are geting ready for the IPL And they will do there 100 ./. There ipl teams.. Sanath you should think about those accepts when you do selections...

Y Prasad? where's Shaminda Eranga?

@Htc-Android What's your logic really mate? What if he picks up an injury in the first day of first test in England. Restricting him is not the answer. If he is not fit to play few consecutive matches he should stop playing cricket right away and start concentrating on fitness. I love Dammika Prasad but I think we should give a chance to Eranga or else Pradeep. Nuwan pradeep played really well against Indians too.

How about Pre Maharoof. He is in good form in domestic cricket,an all rounder with ODI experience played well for SL.

Prasad is known for his slogging rather than bowling. That's the truth.
