ICC World Cricket League Division Four

Nepal back on track

Cricinfo

Paras Khadka - Nepal captain

After two disappointing batting displays by the side I feel that we’re back on the road to recovery with our performance today. The batsmen showed what we are capable of but we are by no means the finished article and there is still room for improvement in all aspects of our game.

I think our openers did well today, Anil and Mahesh put the runs on the board and then when I joined Pradeep at the crease I felt we were a good settled unit. I was particularly pleased with Pradeep today who made his debut for the side. He showed good maturity for a 17-year-old to grind out his 38 not out and I hope he continues to do well.

I still think our ground fielding needs to improve and it may be a case of going back to basics with that too and making sure we’re quick on our reactions when it comes to claiming catches in the field.

I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s match which could well be a do-or-die game against the USA. It’s time for us to bring our ‘A’ game against them, we’ve played three times and I hope tomorrow is a positive as today’s outcome. We still need to remain focused and remember the three key skills I talked about yesterday – batting, bowling and fielding.

Sorry to keep it short guys, I’m off for an early night after a long day!

We still have a chance to play World cup 2015..Infact every team in from division I to division 8 can still qualify for the world cup..Nepal will have their chance when they play their next division 4 tournament probably around 2013 to move to division 3 and subsequently to division 2 and to the world cup...So there's still a hope for Nepali fans...

Small mistake against a weak country Tanzania stopped us to upgrade on division 3.Its so dissapointing. Now who is responsible of it , Captain Paras or Coach Roy Luk Dias??????

Why Nepal keeps on changing their batting lineup? Why they poke around with winning combination...Why was Alam dropped for USA game?? Was he unfit? Why is Shakti Gauchan playing on the side?? He seems like he knows only to defend. He is only good for test cricket. And why was Pradeep Aire pushed down in a match against USA after he played so well in No. 3 position in the previous game...I think Paras has lost his mind or Is Dias pressuring him to do so??

You people are the only lots in sport circle who are providing the Nepalese worldwide a sentiment of "my Nepal, my pride". Always give your best for the country. Do not worry about the results. I mean to say if you are giving your best then the result will definitely be positive. Convey my love & regards to Mr Raeesh Thapa (motey) & all other team members.
