Please stop whining about the fight. Intensity and competitiveness brings out the best in players. And if children are replicating these actions on the streets then the parents are to blame for not guiding them the proper way.

In IPL, i think both these playes have been let off lightly. What is needed is a 6 match suspension in the current tournament. Plus ICC should step in and give another 6 match suspension in the immediately forthcoming matches (any format). This should dissuade such boorish attitude in the game today.

Some of the comments dismiss these things as banter. C'mon guys, you got kids watching this and replicating it in the streets. No one wants that!

Both the players are shown holding dumb phones. Satish don't you need smartphones to tweet?

I am all for a little banter but in all fairness it should not get physical. It's cricket not Ice Hockey.

I cannot understand why Pollard is being made out to be the villain. The bowler deliberately bowled the bowl at him.He had to take evasive actions. It is time enough cricketers around the world stand up to these bullies who call themselves sportsmen and who are always find favours with the authorities while the rest of the teams members are punished for similar or lesser incidents.

Well that was fun to watch I really enjoyed it!

Whats wrong with a little bit of banter. I love it...... Makes the game more intense and brings out true passion. If cricket need a little boost up in North America, people should stop bitching about these little fight..

@solomon Raj your a funny person u fail to see the flaws caused by Mitchell who is equally reponsible for his actions , and you talk about captains look at what virat kolhi was doing complaining atleast not like rohit sharma .. if there was one person who didnt wanna fiight was gayle so cut the crap and blame both sides .

It is because of them that the intensity of the viewers reached the sky level... I hate to admit it - "Sledging makes match more interesting"

Pollard's bat slipped, Starc couldn't pull out on time (that's what she said), they said a few words, but stump mic was not being broadcast so all of this hysteria really has to stop. Not giving them points on the "fair play award" for that game might be the best response. Lets be clear; you can swear at, or tease, or wind up your opponent. You can not threaten non competative voilence or actually attack someone. short of that its all fair game, now if we just kept stump mic on and let everyone hear what the umpires say and the (often very funny) banter then it would be fair to ask players to show a higher level of decency, with regard to their projected image.
